Publication number: 20140270336Abstract: Some implementations provide a method that includes: receiving, from a user on the mobile device, a request for a mobile transaction; inspecting, at the mobile device, a government-issued identification document presented by the user to obtain a digital watermark, the government-issued identification document documenting an identity of a subject; validating the government-issued identification document based on the digital watermark; and in response to validating the government-issued identification document as valid, authenticating the user as authorized to request the mobile transaction being requested.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 11, 2014Publication date: September 18, 2014Applicant: MORPHOTRUST USA, INC.Inventors: Robert Andrew Eckel, Mohamed Lazzouni

Publication number: 20140226874Abstract: The system and methods disclosed herein validate the authenticity of a document and an individual's claimed identity. The system and method use a validation facility that is configurable to compare and match characteristics of biometric and non-biometric data presented by an individual with biometric and non-biometric data received from a request to a database or file system holding such information. The determination on the matching characteristics of the data can occur in completely automated fashion without intervention from the user, but user intervention is also possible allowing the user to review and override certain data discrepancies. The validation facility provides a user interface for use by a user to review a determination on the data analysis and instruct the validation facility to override that determination if the user determines the cause of the identity verification failure is within an acceptable criterion.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 17, 2014Publication date: August 14, 2014Applicant: MorphoTrust USA, Inc.Inventors: Mark R. Mallalieu, James A. Kottas, Mohamed Lazzouni, Leonid Y. Shteyman, Jay F. Bortolussi, Thomas M. Kuzeja, Gida R. Zikas-Bernard

Patent number: 8644562Abstract: Biometric systems capture and combine biometric information from more than one modality, employing digital processing algorithms to process and evaluate captured images having data for a biometric characteristic. Such digital algorithms may include a pupil segmentation algorithm for determining a pupil image in the captured image, an iris segmentation algorithm for determining an iris image in the captured image, an eyelid/eyelash segmentation algorithm for determining an eyelid/eyelash image in the captured image, and an algorithm for measuring the focus on the iris. Some embodiments employ an auto-capture process which employs such algorithms, in part; to evaluate captured images and obtain the best possible images for biometric identification.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2012Date of Patent: February 4, 2014Assignee: MorphoTrust USA, Inc.Inventors: Yasunari Tosa, David Usher, Nicholas A. Accomando, Vladimir Ruzhitsky, Faisal Bashir
