Patents Assigned to Morphotrust USA, Inc.
  • Publication number: 20150063655
Abstract: Some implementations may include a computer-assisted method for authenticating a person at a point of service, the method including: receiving a digital identification document including a digital biometric of the person and a digital watermark, the digital watermark encoding personally identifiable information of the person; retrieving the digital watermark from the received digital identification document; extracting the personally identifiable information from the retrieved digital watermark; and authenticating the person identified by the digital biometric based on the retrieved digital watermark.

  • Publication number: 20150030213
Abstract: Some implementations may provide a method for generating a portrait of a subject for an identification document, the method including: receiving, at a mobile device, a photo image of the subject, the photo image including a foreground and a background, wherein the foreground includes the subject's face and the background does not include the subject's face; determining the background of the photo image based on the photo image alone and without user intervention; masking the determined background from the photo image; and subsequently generating the portrait of the subject based on the photo image with the background masked.

  • Publication number: 20140363057
Abstract: Some implementations provide a machine-assisted method for screening a person, the method including: receiving, at a scanning device, an identification document presented by the person, the identification document showing a machine-readable code that encodes personally identifiable information of the person, a biometric of the person, and printed information; scanning the machine-readable code on the identification document to extract personally identifiable information of the person; comparing the extracted personally identifiable information against records stored at a database; determining that the extracted personal identifiable information matches a record stored at the database; receiving data encoding the biometric of the person on the identification document for comparison with the person presenting the identification document; receiving a determination that the biometric from the identification document identifies the person presenting the identification document; and determining whether the identifi

  • Publication number: 20140297530
Abstract: Some implementations provide a method that includes: generating an association, at a mobile device, between a government-issued identification document of a user and a mode of payment; receiving, at the mobile device, a presentation of the government-issued identification document of the user to support a request for payment; validating whether the presented government-issued identification document is a valid identification of the user; and in response to validating the presented government-issued identification document, proceeding with payment by using the mode of payment.

  • Publication number: 20140270336
Abstract: Some implementations provide a method that includes: receiving, from a user on the mobile device, a request for a mobile transaction; inspecting, at the mobile device, a government-issued identification document presented by the user to obtain a digital watermark, the government-issued identification document documenting an identity of a subject; validating the government-issued identification document based on the digital watermark; and in response to validating the government-issued identification document as valid, authenticating the user as authorized to request the mobile transaction being requested.

  • Publication number: 20140226874
Abstract: The system and methods disclosed herein validate the authenticity of a document and an individual's claimed identity. The system and method use a validation facility that is configurable to compare and match characteristics of biometric and non-biometric data presented by an individual with biometric and non-biometric data received from a request to a database or file system holding such information. The determination on the matching characteristics of the data can occur in completely automated fashion without intervention from the user, but user intervention is also possible allowing the user to review and override certain data discrepancies. The validation facility provides a user interface for use by a user to review a determination on the data analysis and instruct the validation facility to override that determination if the user determines the cause of the identity verification failure is within an acceptable criterion.

  • Patent number: 8644562
Abstract: Biometric systems capture and combine biometric information from more than one modality, employing digital processing algorithms to process and evaluate captured images having data for a biometric characteristic. Such digital algorithms may include a pupil segmentation algorithm for determining a pupil image in the captured image, an iris segmentation algorithm for determining an iris image in the captured image, an eyelid/eyelash segmentation algorithm for determining an eyelid/eyelash image in the captured image, and an algorithm for measuring the focus on the iris. Some embodiments employ an auto-capture process which employs such algorithms, in part; to evaluate captured images and obtain the best possible images for biometric identification.
