Abstract: The support (6) comprises a moving brush (7) and means (10) for returning the brush so as to keep it in contact with the commutator (4) of the machine. The support (6) comprises clip-in means (13) for fastening the support to the housing (1) of the machine by clipping-in substantially radially to the axis (8) of the housing, and for separating it from this housing by substantially radial unclipping. The support can be easily removed and refitted for replacing the brush or cleaning the commutator.
Abstract: Each stator lamination (2) is angularly offset with respect to the following adjacent lamination, about an axis (4) of the stator (1, 3), by a constant angle (.alpha.) equal to a multiple of the angle corresponding to the slot pitch, and has a square shape, each corner (5) being truncated to a circular outline (6). At least one of the two truncated corners (5) of each lamination (2) is linked to the corner (5) corresponding to each of the two adjacent laminations (2) by at least one welding point (11) located in a region where the two outlines (6) extend or are superimposed. The welding points (11) are located in predetermined respective angular positions cyclically reproducible in relation to the stator axis (4) and are uniformly distributed about the axis (4) so that the welding points (11) are aligned according to lines (15a, 15b) of welding points (11) substantially parallel to the stator axis (4).
Abstract: The electromagnetic brake comprises an electromagnet and a movable armature attracted by this electromagnet when the latter is energized and separated from the latter by spring means when the electromagnet is not energized. The electromagnet and the armature are each mounted hingeably between two pivoting arms carrying jaws intended to clamp an element to be braked. The brake comprises, moreover, a damping device offering resistance to the movements of the armature relative to the electromagnet so as to control and slow down the speed at which the brake is applied and released. The damping device is integrated inside the assembly consisting of the armature and the electromagnet.
Abstract: Inter-phase insulators inserted between the different layers of windings of a stator each comprise two separators joined together by two straps which are engaged within the stator slots. The straps are slidably mounted on the centering-tool and the inter-phase insulators are positioned axially in such a manner that the closed corolla of separators at one end of the straps has to travel over a predetermined distance up to an annular deflecting face of the centering-tool and that the straps project radially from the tool in the vicinity of the position in which the straps are slidaly mounted near the opened-out corolla of separators at the other end of the straps.
Abstract: The invention relates to an on board power supply, particularily for a ship propelled by a variable speed diesel engine (1), comprising a first alternator (2) coupled to a diesel engine, an electronic regulator (4) for the first alternator, a rectifier (5) for rectifying the output current of the first alternator, a direct current motor (6) powered from the output of the rectifier, and a second alternator (8) coupled to the direct current motor. It also comprises means (13) for selectively feeding the regulator of the first alternator from the output (12) of the first alternator or from the output (11) of the second alternator.

Abstract: A method for ensuring fluid-tightness is applicable to a submersible motor for operation under conditions of total and permanent immersion, especially in oil wells and geothermal boreholes. The emergent end of the drive shaft of the motor is fitted with a rotary packing-gland. The motor casing is filled with oil which is circulated via an axial duct of the drive shaft, the impulse being produced by a disk pierced by radial ducts. A second circuit constituted by a system of ducts including radial ducts comes into contact with the packing-gland which is at overpressure with respect to the external medium. This results in a controlled leakage flow between the two portions of the packing-gland.

Abstract: A motor pump set having two coaxial shafts is provided with a fluid circuit for protecting the rotary packing-gland against any ingress of solid particles such as sand. Pumped fluid is withdrawn from an intermediate space of the pump and returned upstream via a duct within the pump shaft in order to lubricate the bearings as it passes. The fraction of the fluid stream which is discharged from the last bearing flows in the vicinity of the packing-gland and is driven through radial discharge ducts under the action of centrifugal force.

Abstract: An electrotechnical regulating device for asynchronous rotating machines comprises capacitors in series with the windings of the asynchronous motor. In order to regulate the speed of rotation of an asynchronous motor, the device further comprises a variable-impedance short-circuiter connected in parallel between at least one of the windings and the associated capacitor or capacitors. The device serves to modify the torque of an asynchronous motor supplied at a variable frequency and at a fixed voltage, in order to control the speed of an asynchronous motor which is supplied at fixed or variable frequency or in order to regulate the voltage of an induction generator which rotates at a fixed or variable speed.
Abstract: A safety coupling for rapidly stopping a cutting tool or the like upon the de-energization of a driving motor includes an axially movable shell rotating together with a driven shaft and having a flange pressed by a spring toward a frictional braking element. Two parallel cams of generally triangular outline are articulated by their respective vertices to a drive shaft and, in a central position, are aligned with a common axis of the drive and driven shafts. On starting the motor, the resulting differential torque causes a relatively inverse tilting of the cams around a transverse axle whereby they axially shift the shell, against the force of the spring, and release its flange from the braking element. As soon as the motor is cut off, the differential torque vanishes and the cams regain their initial central position whereby the driven tool is arrested.
Abstract: The method for regulating the terminal voltage delivered by an independent alternating-current generator consists in measuring the voltage in at least one phase, in measuring and automatically adjusting the frequency with respect to a reference value by putting dissipative resistors in circuit, and in automatically varying the reference value of the frequency as a function of variations in voltage. The invention achieves stable voltage control which prevents harmful oscillations and is applicable in particular to asynchronous generators which are driven by a natural fluid.
