Abstract: A system for tracking events including a central server and application software provided on mobile communication devices of subscribers. The application software sends current location information of the mobile communication device to the central server via a communication network. A database located on the central server is provided containing subscriber information including contact information for each of the mobile communication devices of subscribers and current and historical location information received from the mobile communication devices. On receiving information regarding the location of an event in a time period, the server sends notifications to those subscribers that were in a zone surrounding said location within said time period providing information regarding the event.
