  • Publication number: 20020056657
Abstract: A packaging folder is provided comprising a plurality of panels bounding an internal space for accommodating an item or items. The dimensions of the internal space may be varied by selectively leaving in or removing one or more removable plug panels. The selective leaving in or removing of plug panels provides different internal compartment configurations for securing an item or items. The packaging folder may comprise a front cover and a back cover, foldable together like a book to surround the internal compartment or compartments. The back cover and front cover may be secured in the folded condition, for example by glue, such that the folder cannot be opened without tearing the folder. A spine of the packaging folder may be provided with a tear tape to facilitate opening of the folder.

  • Patent number: 6189776
Abstract: The present invention provides for an improved telescoping container, which is set up and collapsed flat quickly and easily, and is provided to the user in one integral piece, eliminating the necessity of a lid being assembled or maintained separately. An integral lid provides an improved amount of cushioning and strength, and does not enter the cubic volume of the container and thus reduce available storage space. In another embodiment the collapsible container includes a structure enabling the storage of hanging files in a collapsible box. An embodiment of the present invention provides for a container with improved support structures for hanging files. The support structures provide a smooth, reinforced surface of sufficient width on which the hooks of hanging files may rest. Since the support structures are constructed from material integral with the container itself, no separate piece is required.

  • Patent number: 6047884
Abstract: A box with a side panels and at least one closing panel has at least one inner panel associated with one of the closing panels, wherein when the closing panel is in its open position, the inner panel is substantially parallel to that closing panel, and when that closing panel is folded to its closed position, the inner panel is moved toward the center of the box to a distanced position. When the inner panel is in the distanced position, at least a portion of the inner panel is at an oblique angle with respect to both the closing panel with which it is associated and the outer side panel to which that closing panel is connected.

  • Patent number: 6045038
Abstract: A box includes a plurality of outer panels collectively bounding an accommodation space for accommodating at least one item. At least some of the outer side panels have integrally formed inner side panels. The inner side panels may be automatically distanced from their respective outer side panels by moving the outer side panels from a collapsed flat position to an erected position. Certain panels of the box may be folded back on adjacent panels. The space between two panels may be utilized. For example it may be a display space, a compartment accessible through an opening panel, or a storage space for a dispenser pack. Opening or closing a panel on the box, or another action on the box, may trigger various functions of the box components or contents.

In one embodiment of the invention the container gains strength from a double glued seam, having opposing edges sealed to one another with two tabs; alternatively one of the two tabs is sealed. The container sets up by having an inner portion telescope into an outer portion, and may be collapsed flat by pulling the inner portion back out of the outer portion. In one embodiment the ease of set up is further improved by forming the lid from a continuous sheet of material, so that the lid may be closed in one motion, rather than the sequence of steps required with other lids.

  • Patent number: 6016919
Abstract: A packaging container is provided which allows an enclosed product to be viewed, inspected, and handled without the risk of damage, soiling, or theft. In an exemplary embodiment the container comprises an outer portion and an inner portion, wherein the product may be contained within the inner portion and the inner portion may be at least partially removed from the outer portion. As a specific example, the container may comprise a rigid outer box and a transparent flexible inner bag attached to the outer box. The inner bag, in conjunction with the box, forms an enclosure for the product, and allows the product to be at least partially removed from the rigid box while still being fully enclosed by the packaging container. The container may be closed or sealed at one end and partially blocked at the other end through the use of displaceable barriers.

  • Patent number: 5769309
Abstract: An integrally cushioned box includes a plurality of panels collectively bounding an accommodation space for accommodating at least one item. At least some of such panels have integrally formed structures for holding the item accommodated in a resilient manner at a distance from the respective panel. Each such holding structure includes for each respective one of the panels an additional panel situated in the accommodation space in an erected condition of the box and connected with the respective panel such as to keep the additional panel at a distance from the respective panel. The distancing of the two associated panels from one another may be achieved by using a distancing flap integral with the respective panel.
