Abstract: Techniques for bundle generation are described. Some embodiments include a mobile marketplace system (“MMS”) configured to provide dynamically generated content bundles to users in a mobile marketplace. Providing a dynamically generated content bundle may include generating a content bundle that includes multiple related content items, such as songs, ringtones, images, videos, or the like. Some embodiments generate linked bundles that include content items that share one or more attributes, such as artist, genre, or content provider. In other embodiments, content bundles may be generated based on activities of one or more users, including purchase or browsing history. The MMS may also determine a discounted price for a generated content bundle based on pricing information associated with the content items of the bundle. In addition, the MMS may assure compliance with license terms or other safeguards associated with content items.

  • Patent number: 7860449
Abstract: A system and methods for targeting mobile content to a mobile device based on the context of where and how a user discovers the content. Instead of advertising content during commercial breaks of a television program, the invention contextually targets the mobile content to specific program content (e.g., music video) as it is being broadcast in the form of a screen pop-up containing text messaging instructions to obtain the mobile content concurrently with, or following the broadcast of the specific program content. Such “contextual targeting” leads to a significantly higher frequency and profitability of conversions and downloads. Similarly, the invention contextually integrates mobile content into a user's online experience using a web-enabled device in which the contextual content can be integrated with a search engine or a contextual link can be placed on web pages that are served to the user.

  • Patent number: 7461067
Abstract: In a system for providing media content to a communication device, a device capabilities determination is made by a rules engine that compares content attributes with constraints on those attributes for a device. Metadata describing the content is derived and entered into a database. As the specifications of different devices are entered into the system, corresponding constraints are associated with the devices that tell the engine the valid range of values for the content attributes. The engine creates an available content library for each class of devices by excluding all instances of content that have attributes outside the range of values prescribed in the constraints. A similar rule set determines whether the content can be distributed through a particular delivery channel, based on the distribution channel capacity to support a media type.

  • Patent number: 7085552
Abstract: A method for handling messages between wireless devices in a network, includes: receiving a message for a device application by a dispatcher application on a receiving wireless device; determining that the device application does not exist on the receiving wireless device by the dispatcher application; and sending a notification to a user of the receiving wireless device of receipt of the message. Because the dispatcher application on the receiving wireless device sends this notification, the developer of the device application has an opportunity to sell the device application to the user, and the user has the opportunity to purchase the device application.
