Abstract: A computer implemented, interactive method and system for assisting real estate agents and their clients in managing and closing a real estate transaction. The invention includes the computer system's generation of a Gantt Chart which automatically tracks the entire real estate transaction, simultaneously providing each agent with the same visual presentation, on their own computer display device, of a description and status of each task to be performed by both agents in order to close the purchase and sale of a property. The Gantt Chart displays each task in a column on each agent's display device and adjacent to each task is a horizontal schedule bar which may contain at least one status indicator which indicates the status of its associated task. A document access indicator is also displayed as an icon adjacent to each task which involves the preparation and delivery of a real estate document.

Abstract: An ear sensor apparatus includes a microphone positionable with respect to an ear canal to detect sound signals from the ear canal and to generate a corresponding output signal. The apparatus may include a seal for substantially blocking ambient sound signals from reaching the microphone and an interface to convey the output signal to a remote speech recognition apparatus. The output signal may be normalized so that the normalized output signal is more representative of speech from a user's mouth than speech detected from the user's ear.

Abstract: Disclosed is an earset assembly that has a housing having a microphone port and a speaker port. A microphone is enclosed by the housing and has first and second input ports. The first input port is acoustically coupled to the microphone port to detect air pressure changes of the ear of a user. A speaker is enclosed by the housing and has an output port acoustically coupled to the speaker port to broadcast sounds to the user. The output port is acoustically coupled to the second input port of the microphone so that the microphone cancels at least a portion of feedback from the sounds broadcast by the speaker and detected at the first input port of the microphone.

Abstract: An apparatus for attachment of a camera to a vehicle includes an outrigger and a mounting device for securing the outrigger to the vehicle. Disposed at a desired position of the outrigger is a mounting element for fastening a camera. In order to realize a controlled pivoting of the outrigger, a swivel mechanism is incorporated, for example, in an area of the mounting device.

Abstract: A hand held electronic device having at least two displays is disclosed. At least one display is a direct-view display, like those on most cell phones or PDAs in use in 2001, for viewing at normal reading distance of approximately 12 to 24 inches (“arms'-length” viewing). At least one of the other displays is a microdisplay, a tiny display with magnifying optical elements, for viewing larger, higher-resolution images when the microdisplay is positioned close to the eye. The invention allows coordinating microdisplays and direct-view displays in ways that allow people to comfortably access and interact with full-page Web content on pocket-size devices.

Abstract: Mobile devices are described, along with related services, systems, and methods. These devices include displays with pixel dimensions and pixel densities in ranges that are chosen to allow users to enjoy a more intuitive and more “desktop-like” Web or multi-media experience compared to other devices, while still enabling the devices to be pocketsize. Also described are devices with touch sensitive areas on the edges or back that let users efficiently and intuitively control some behaviors of the devices by touching the touch sensitive areas in certain ways. Embodiments of the present invention reduces the need for mechanical controls, which enables keeping the frame around the device's display unusually narrow, thereby permitting larger displays without increasing the overall sizes of the devices.

Abstract: An electromagnetic mark device for any type of magnetism encoder applies the electric current magnetic field as the electromagnetic mark thereof. The electromagnetic mark device comprises an insulated base plate and a thin lead wire. The thin lead wire is fixed to the insulated base plate. It is characterized in that the thin lead wire is laid out on the base plate as a circuit in a way of providing a continuously twisted and turned shape with a constant pitch. Hence, alternate magnetic marks are formed with continuous magnetic poles N·S·N·S once the current passes the lead wire. The electromagnetic mark device can be adapted to a linear ruler or a rotary dial in the magnetism encoder to detect a relative displacement, velocity and angular velocity of a moving object so that the present invention can offer more stable signals and more accurate detection of location with being fabricated more easily.

Abstract: Playing the game of Solitaire is facilitated with tiles, each tile including indicia representing playing cards, and a custom rack which includes compartments to house the tiles. In one embodiment the compartments are for stock, tableau tiles, foundations for a completed suit, a special tile storage compartment and sequence slots positioned in front of tableau compartments. The tiles are nestable or stackable such that when one is placed atop one another, they stay in place, yet they are not so tightly constrained that they cannot be easily picked up and removed from a stack of tiles. As such the tiles are lightly interlocked when stacked. For selected compartments in which tiles are upstanding a number of ridges are provided to form channels at the bottom of a compartment in which the bottom edge of a tile is adapted to fit. The purpose of the ridges is to prevent tiles from slipping, as they are stacked within a rack compartment.

Abstract: A pair of sensors are used for detecting an air pressure change signal within an ear of a person caused by the person's initiating action (thought, movement, biological function and/or speech). One of the microphones is placed at least partially within an ear of the person and the other is placed adjacent to and external to the ear, to produce two electrical signals, respectively corresponding to internally detected and to externally detected changes in air pressure. Comparison of the unmodified signal strength difference between these two signals is used to distinguish an initiating action component of each signal from an external source component of each signal. The electrical signals are processed to produce an output signal corresponding to the initiating action, which signal is then recognized by a neural network or speech recognizer, and used for control or communication.

Abstract: A portable cooking or barbequing apparatus includes a support frame having a front end with a tow hitch mechanism and ground engaging wheels mounted on opposite sides of the frame. A main housing is mounted on the frame and has vertically extending side walls and an open top. A plurality of smaller housing, each containing a gas burner, are fixedly mounted in the main housing. These smaller housings each have a bottom, vertically extending opposite side walls and opposite end walls connecting the side walls. A gas supply system provides fuel gas to the burners and a burner control system operates the gas burners and controls the flow of fuel gas to the burners. A main lid is preferably pivotally mounted on the main housing to cover its open top.

Abstract: A method of producing a control signal. The method includes the steps of sensing an air pressure pattern in or near an ear of a person, the air pressure pattern resulting from voluntary physical action of the person; and converting the air pressure pattern into an output signal. Also described is a control system. The control system includes an air pressure sensor for detecting an air pressure pattern adjacent an ear of a person while the person makes a voluntary physical action and for producing an output signal corresponding to the detected air pressure pattern; and processing circuitry for discerning a pattern from the output signal.

Abstract: Apparatus for exercising the rear leg muscles as well as the lower dorsal muscles of a patient which includes an elongated bench having a footrest at one end which is adjustable in the longitudinal direction of the bench and a dorsal support at the other end attached to a vertically revolvable arm, and a drive device to move the revolvable arm in the vertical plane for bringing to bear an adjustable pressure on the patient's back by movement of the dorsal support.

Abstract: A process for producing a woven cotton fabric wherein the warp is treated with water-soluble cold size. A pile warp, if present, is sized after warping. After weaving, the size is washed out with soda and a decalcifying agent. By rinsing twice, the dissolved size, lime and soda residues are removed. Drying is effected on a tenter frame, with or without shrinking. The process produces a fabric wherein the cotton fibers retain many of their natural properties.
