Patents Assigned to MP Pumps, Inc.
  • Publication number: 20180163727
Abstract: A centrifugal pump comprising a motor with a shaft rotatably extending therefrom and an adapter configured to be mounted to the motor at a first side, the first side including an opening for permitting passage of the shaft therethrough. A volute housing is configured to be mounted to a second side of the adapter, the adapter and volute housing defining a pumping chamber therebetween. An impeller is configured to be disposed within the pumping chamber and rotatably coupled to the shaft via a figured fastener. The impeller includes a first wall having a figured recess defined therein, the figured recessed configured to receive the figured fastener whereby rotation of the shaft causes rotation of the impeller.

  • Patent number: 9638205
Abstract: A double seal pump assembly is provided and comprises a pump housing having an inlet and an outlet. An impeller is in communication with the inlet and outlet. The impeller includes an impeller shaft extending outwardly from the housing. The impeller shaft is adapted to engage a drive shaft of a motor. A housing adapter is mounted onto the housing at a first seal and is configured to secure the impeller to the housing. A motor adapter is mounted to the housing adapter at a second seal thereby defining a cavity therebetween. The motor adapter is configured to mount the motor and the cavity is configured to be filled with a barrier fluid. An accumulator is in fluid communication with the cavity and is adapted to hold a reserve barrier fluid so as to maintain barrier fluid volume and pressure within the cavity.

  • Patent number: 8202046
Abstract: A centrifugal pump including a motor connected to a volute housing. The volute housing is configured to receive a pumping mechanism that includes an impeller rotatably connected to the motor. The volute housing may also include a removeable cover that provides access to the interior of the volute housing and to components of the pumping mechanism. In one exemplary embodiment, the removeable cover is connected to the volute housing by fasteners, such as bolts. By removing the cover, the impeller, wear plate, and other components of the pumping mechanism may be disassembled and, if necessary, serviced, without the need to remove the motor from the volute housing. In another exemplary embodiment, a gasket having an integrated flapper valve is secured between the cover and the volute housing. The flapper valve is positioned to align with a fluid inlet formed in the cover and acts as a check valve, substantially preventing fluid within the volute housing from exiting through the inlet.

  • Patent number: 8152458
Abstract: A high temperature centrifugal pump includes non-linear fluid flow paths between the pump housing and seal housing to reduce fluid flow therebetween. In another aspect, the invention provides a drive shaft of variable diameter to compensate for different amounts of thermal expansion to maintain a more consistent gap profile between the drive shaft and thermal insulators or other components positioned around the drive shaft. In yet another aspect, a tube heat exchanger may be placed in fluid communication with the seal housing to re-circulate and cool the fluid therethrough.

  • Patent number: 5624245
Abstract: A high temperature, centrifugal pump includes a thermally isolated and dynamically air cooled shaft seal. Carbon graphite insulators formed of plural elements juxtaposed together (46) insulate the seal assembly (34) from the pump housing (16). A hollow drive shaft limits heat conducted from the impeller during operation while a fan (56) forcibly flows air past the seal assembly to conduct heat energy away from the shaft seal. The insulator (46) reduces heat energy conducted to the seal assembly (42).
