  • Patent number: 12258755
Abstract: A sound isolation assembly comprising: one or more backing plates; one or more acoustic isolators; and a backing block. The acoustic isolators may be secured between the backing plates and the backing block when the backing plates are fastened to the backing block. When the backing plates are fastened to the backing block, the backing plates are substantially prevented by the acoustic isolators from being in direct contact with the backing block. The acoustic isolators may be fastened to the studs. The sound isolation assembly, when installed in a wall that is supporting a heavy load, raises the Sound Transmission Class rating of that wall.

  • Patent number: 11527227
Abstract: A sound isolation assembly comprising: a center ferrule; a top grommet isolator; a bottom grommet isolator; a spring; and a furring channel engagement portion. The sound isolation assembly is configured to engage with a structure and a furring channel, which itself is connected to a ceiling panel, such that the noise passing from one floor to the other is lessened as compared to a control system that does not use the sound isolation assembly. The spring may be steel and the grommet isolators may be rubber or the like, and the combination of the steel spring and grommet isolators reduces noise.

  • Publication number: 20080202846
Abstract: A system and method is provided for dampening sound transmission and vibration for controlling noise in finished strata materials to which sound dampening channel members are attached. The system comprises a metal connector member including a base portion and at least one gripping portion joined to, and extending outwardly from, the base portion, for receiving and fixedly holding in place the metal sound dampening channel member on a structural support member. The metal sound dampening channel member being connectable to the gripping portion of the metal connector member and forming a gap therebetween without introducing energy transfer material in the gap thereby providing space for energy to dissipate throughout the gap and without creating any substantial hot spots.
