Abstract: A system of data servers, organizing software and applications enable mobile users communicating through advanced wireless handheld devices to access a wide array of information on the Internet and in databases. The system incorporates acceleration and compression techniques, selective caching, and data-mining technology to deliver a variety of data types to the handheld at speeds many times faster (up to 20×) than it would have without the present system. Security measures are implemented at the handhelds and servers, as well as at partner sites to facilitate secure E-Commerce transactions. Direct connections to wireless networks allow a significant portion of the communications to by-pass slower wireless modems. The use of high-speed paths through the Internet allow wireless data communications across incompatible wireless standards. A central database expeditiously and in a format targeted to the handheld.

Abstract: A set of applications to facilitate mobile communications and use of the Internet are bundled to allow the wireless environment to tailored to the handle the load imposed by WEB surfing. The applications include a quick connection to the server, validation of user and user device, resumption of disconnected sessions, and snapshot quantized information delivery. In addition, fast service for likely requested location specific information, search narrowing before search, user behavior habit learning speed-up, consideration of Internet contractual issues, and a speedy search engine make searching more timely. Reliability of information pages is assured by authenticating the updates before they are placed in local storage. Applications to implement this include online authenticated snapshot update provisioning, Internet page conversion tools, tailored Internet page conversion tools, and Information Content Provider tools.

Abstract: A communications protocol (M-Protocol) that rides under the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) protocol of the Internet and many other communications networks such as HTTP/SSL, SMTP, POP3, NNTP, allows capabilities required for compression and encryption of data files to be provided over the commonly used communication networks. The M-Protocol, riding under the TCP protocol, works like a TCP gateway but with ability to compress and encrypt data. The data integrity functions of TCP are undisturbed. System messages establish the M-Connection. Applications of the M-Connection include Web browsing from a portable wireless handheld device and integrating Voice over IP onto a Data line in a GRPR environment.
