Abstract: Some embodiments relate to a position monitoring device. The position monitoring device may comprise memory accessible to the processor; and a sealed housing containing a processor, a geo-spatial positioning module, a geo-spatial positioning antenna, a solar cell module, a power supply module, and a first communications module. The geo-spatial positioning module coupled to the geo-spatial positioning antenna and configured to generate geo-spatial positioning data based on an output of the geo-spatial positioning antenna that specifies a geo-spatial position of the position monitoring device. The memory may contain instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to: transmit geo-spatial positioning information from the first communications module to a device external to the position monitoring device.
