  • Patent number: 10229481
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for automatically identifying defective pixels captured by a motion picture camera within a sequence of frames is disclosed. The method comprises applying a spatio-temporal metric for each pixel in each frame wherein the spatio-temporal metric weights the spatial severity of error in the pixel by a degree of motion at the pixel to produce a weighted spatio-temporal metric value. The weighted spatio-temporal metric values for each pixel are compared to a threshold to automatically identify defective pixels within the sequence of frames.

  • Patent number: 10205213
Abstract: An antenna array configuration is provided with h-plane splitters between ends of a feeding network and radiating elements e.g. horns, thereby to reduce the distance between the centers of the horns to less than one wavelength which results in a better side lobe level. A method of manufacturing upper and lower plates together constituting an antenna is also provided, typically making each plate in a single operation, by dividing the feeding network's waveguides at the center where there are no cross currents so as not to disturb propagation in the feeding network. The radiating elements, h-plane splitters and upper half of the feeding network may be fabricated in one plate without undercuts hence simplifying manufacture of the plate which may for example be formed using a simple molding machine or a 3 axis-CNC machine.

  • Patent number: 10186778
Abstract: A flat antenna element including at least one radiating patch; and at least one impedance transformer including a feed-point arm connected to the patch which intersects between micro-strip feed lines and the radiating patch, wherein said arm has a first end electrically connected to an individual feed line and a second end which is electrically connected to the patch, and wherein said second end electrically connected to the patch has a width small enough to yield a level of impedance, for the arm, which is more than, e.g. more than twice, the level of impedance of the patch, and wherein the width of the feed line of end connected to patch is narrower than the end connected to the feed line.

  • Publication number: 20180049563
Abstract: The design described here is a new display for hand-held consumer electronic devices. The display has a mounting member, or puck, that is lifted from rest on a display surface. The puck carries a rechargeable power storage device for the hand-held device. The power storage device charges when the puck is at rest but is disconnected and powers the hand-held when the puck is lifted. The puck also carries a wireless device that outputs a security alarm signal for the purpose of indicating a theft event.

  • Patent number: 9615698
Abstract: A shower pan (10), preferably having rectangular planform includes a central drain (20) that is centered in a floor portion that inclines at a shallow angle (i.e., 3 degrees or so) to front and back sides and opposite ends. The floor portion and includes a shallow channel (46) along the front edge of the shower pan (10) into which all or substantially all water is drained to a second channel (48) into a central drain (20). An apertured grill or cover plate assembly (36) is mounted in the channels and serves as a cover for the various channels. The shower pan (10) is typically installed so that a sill surface (50) is at the same elevation as the pre-existing floor (52) to provide an entry that does not have any type of ‘trip’ points or obstructions that could pose a hazard to the user or impede assistive aids, such as walkers or wheeled chairs.

  • Patent number: 9445748
Abstract: A device for fractionally collecting contents of exhaled air by changing the state of matter of the contents by means of the Joule-Thomson effect arising during the expansion of pressurized gas. The temperature of the exhaled air conducted in a flow channel is lowered, because of the cooling of the expanding gas, to a temperature that is suitable for condensing the contents in the exhaled air flow. This device and method provides a more efficient means by which condensate can be separated from exhaled air in comparison to conveying exhaled air along a cooling surface for the condensation of the contents, as a result of which condensation of the contents occurs only in the area of these cooling surfaces, so that several breath cycles are required for the collection of sufficient condensate for analysis.

  • Publication number: 20140234740
Abstract: In one embodiment, a membrane electrode assembly of a fuel cell has an anode aspect and a cathode aspect. A fuel distribution structure is disposed adjacent to the anode aspect. The fuel distribution structure has a fuel feed port configured to receive and inject liquid fuel to a flow field plate. The flow field plate has flow channels formed therein that split and spread from the fuel feed port to exit ports. The flow channels are configured to convey heat to fuel passing there through to substantially convert the liquid fuel to vaporous fuel within the flow channels. The exit ports are configured to deliver the resulting vaporous fuel to the anode aspect to substantially uniformly distribute fuel across the anode aspect. Further, an enthalpy exchanger and heat spreader assembly is in thermal contact with the fuel distribution structure and configured to provide to it heat from fuel cell operation.

  • Patent number: 8735012
Abstract: A fuel cell system which includes a fuel distribution structure that uniformly distributes vaporizing fuel to a fuel cell is provided. As the fuel travels in a flow field channel in the fuel distribution structure, it is substantially converted to a vapor by the heat of the fuel cell operation in such a manner that the resulting vapor pressure works to substantially uniformly distribute fuel evenly outwardly across substantially the entire active area of the anode aspect of one or more membrane electrode assemblies in the system, and whereby localized, uneven “hot spots” of fuel at the anode aspects are substantially prevented. A pair of enthalpy exchanger and heat spreader assemblies include a cathode current collector element that also has a heat spreader plate that collects and redirects heat in the fuel cell system, the assembly acting to manage the heat, temperature and condensation in the fuel cell system.
