Abstract: A method for automatically controlling an internal combustion engine, in which an axial displacement (s(t)) and an angle of rotation (w(t)) of a gas-exchange valve are measured during a valve stroke. A displacement deviation is computed from the displacement (s(t)) relative to a reference valve, and an angle of rotation deviation is computed from an initial value and an end value of the angle or rotation. The further operation of the internal combustion engine is set on the basis of the displacement deviation and the angle of rotation deviation.

Abstract: A relief valve for turbines of exhaust turbochargers. Hot exhaust gas flows against this type of relief valves and the relief valves heat up significantly. Sensitive components such as the springs or the membrane can be damaged as a result. The relief valves are normally designed so that the membrane and a radiation panel are adjacent to a first chamber. Air is continuously guided through the first chamber in order to specifically cool the membrane and protect the membrane from excessive heating.
Abstract: In a method for a model-based determination of a temperature distribution of an exhaust gas post-treatment unit, a differentiation is made between steady operating states and non-steady operating states by taking into account the axial and the radial temperature distribution, and, on the basis of virtual segmentation of the post-treatment unit, in particular the radial heat transfer to the surroundings is taken into account in the model-based determination for steady operating states, and for non-steady operating states the heat transfer from the exhaust gas which flows axially through the post-treatment unit to the segments is taken into account by a heat transfer coefficient k.

Abstract: A method for closed-loop control and open-loop control of an internal combustion engine having a common rail system is closed. In the proposed method, the rail pressure (pCR) is determined in that an electronic engine control unit specifies the flow rate of a high-pressure pump into the rail via an intake throttle on the low-pressure side. An intake throttle actuation function, by which the intake throttle is temporarily actuated, is set to recur over time in the case of known idle time of the internal combustion engine and an actuated engine control unit.

The outlet box as an interior space divided into compartments for the placement of accessories, switches and generator governors. The frame has a first side and a second side and the power generation aggregate is mounted on the frame such that the mass of the power generation aggregate is evenly distributed on the first and second sides to reduce harmonic vibration and sound transmission of the power generation aggregate on the frame during aggregate operation.

Abstract: A method for automatically controlling an internal combustion engine, where, during normal operation in a first controller mode, a charge air temperature controller is set as dominant for a map-controlled thermostatic valve for automatically controlling the charge air temperature (TLL), or, during normal operation in a second controller mode, a coolant temperature limit controller is set as dominant for the map-controlled thermostatic valve for automatically controlling the coolant temperature (TKM). If a charge air temperature sensor fails, the second controller mode is set with the coolant temperature limit controller dominant, and if a coolant temperature sensor fails, the first controller mode is set with the charge air temperature controller dominant.
