  • Patent number: 11781297
Abstract: A faucet system includes a first assembly configured for positioning above an upper surface of a support, the first assembly including a handle that is movable between an on configuration and an off configuration, a second assembly configured for positioning below a bottom surface of a support, the second assembly including a valve assembly configured to connect to two or more fluid lines; and an elongated member: coupling the second assembly to the first assembly such that moving the handle between the on configuration and the off configuration causes the elongated member to operate the valve assembly, and having a hollow interior defining a fluid pathway between second assembly and the first assembly through which fluid from at least one of the two or more fluid lines is provided to the first assembly when the handle is in the on configuration.

  • Patent number: 11225423
Abstract: Systems and methods for passively dosing fluid with a consumable additive in a controlled and measured fashion. A capsule containing the additive is placed in a fluid reservoir and passively doses static water in the reservoir over time. Instead of directly exposing the additive to the dispensing system's fluid, fluid within the capsule's internal volume becomes saturated with dissolved additive and then diffuses to the dispensing system's fluid through one or more openings. The one or more openings are sized so the that the diffusion occurs at a predetermined rate, and are positioned on the capsule to prevent an undesirable fluid exchange which extends the life of the additive and maintains a constant diffusion rate. The size of the cartridge can be selected to control the volume of fluid that is passively dosed within the reservoir, thereby controlling an overall concentration of additive in the total volume dispensed.

  • Patent number: 11040297
Abstract: There is disclosed a material for separating a liquid from a mixture of at least two liquids, for example, for separating water from fuel. In one embodiment, the material comprises a fibrous substrate and carbon nanotubes, both of which have at least one functional group attached thereto. There is also disclosed a method for separating one liquid from another liquid using the disclosed material. In one embodiment, the method comprises flowing a mixture of liquids through the disclosed material, and either coalescing or separating at least one liquid by use of the carbon nanotubes.

  • Patent number: 10607046
Abstract: System and methods for authenticating a cartridge comprising reading a unique identifier (UID) and a unique authentication string (UAS) stored on a data storage medium associated with a cartridge; generating, based on the UID or the UAS read from the data storage medium, a test unique authentication string (TUAS) or a test unique identifier (TUID), respectively, according to a methodology used to generate the UAS stored on the data storage medium; and comparing the TUAS or the TUID to the UAS or the UID read from the data storage medium, respectively, to determine if the cartridge is authentic. A method in which the UAS is generated and stored on the data storage medium at a first location, and subsequently authenticated at a second location.

  • Patent number: 10138580
Abstract: There is disclosed a material comprising an assembly of at least one spun yarn, comprising: synthetic inorganic fibers, such as carbon, metal, oxides, carbides or alloys or combinations thereof, wherein a majority of the fibers: (a) are longer than 300 ?m, (b) have a diameter ranging from 0.25 nm and 700 nm, and (c) are substantially crystalline, wherein the yarn has substantial flexibility and uniformity in diameter. A method of making the material is also disclosed. In one embodiment, the method comprises spinning yarn by pulling fibers from a bulk material with at least one spinner that has real time feedback controls.

  • Patent number: 9815725
Abstract: A water filtration housing containing a pressure vessel configured to receive a water filter cartridge; a ring enclosure attachable to an open, top end of the housing enclosure; an interface tower including a user interface; a lid assembly removably attachable to the ring enclosure, the lid assembly including (i) a pressure cap and gasket for maintaining a given pressure in said pressure vessel and (ii) a rotatable lever for disengaging the pressure cap from the pressure vessel thereby releasing pressure therein. A mating system between the lid assembly and ring enclosure prevents the lid assembly from being attached to the ring enclosure in a misaligned fashion. RFID technology may be used for identifying the water filter cartridge installed therein and wireless communication technology (e.g., Wi-Fi) to transmit collected system data (e.g., water usage) to a central location for analysis such that the customer is provided with, for example, operational suggestions.
