Abstract: An-line trap assembly is disclosed for preventing the drop out of suspended particulant matter within a cooling water flow stream. The in-line trap assembly is provided with a collector tank for gathering debris and a bleed through piping network for creating a continuous flow of cooling water. The continuous flow of cooling water from a supply header to a return header assists in moving the debris into the collector tank where the collected sediments are then removed by a manual or automated blow-down of the in-line trap.
Abstract: A filter for a refrigeration unit having a heat exchange fluid supply conduit. The filter is a substantially cylindrical filter screen having a radial flange disposed at each end. One or more filters are disposed along the entire length of the fluid supply conduit to maximize the surface area of the filter screen. Each radial flange has a gasket disposed thereon for providing a seal that prevents the fluid from circumventing the filter screen of the one or more filters. As fluid passes through the conduit, it flows radially through the filter along the entire length of the conduit thereby reducing the adverse effect on fluid pressure in the conduit and passes through the screen, into a volume defined exterior to the filter, thereby minimizing the pressure drop experienced along the fluid supply conduit.
Abstract: A refrigeration system comprises a plurality of assembled modular units each having a refrigeration circuit separate from the circuit of the other units. Each unit includes a housing which defines at least one compartment containing the evaporator of the refrigeration circuit. The condenser is either located in a second compartment in the housing or in a separate chamber associated therewith. A first heat exchange fluid is conveyed to and from the compartment by header pipes, the header pipes of adjacent units being interconnected to form common manifolds for the system. A second heat exchange fluid is circulated passed the condensers of each unit. Electrical controls are provided on each unit to control and monitor operation of the respective refrigeration circuit the controls being interconnected to enable overall control of each unit of the system in accordance with load demand.
