Patents Assigned to MUNICIPAL FILTRATION COMPANY, LLC
  • Patent number: 8574431
Abstract: A wastewater filter assembly comprising a filter having an influent side and an effluent side, a backwash system adapted to control flow of backwash fluid from the effluent side to the influent side, and an agitation system adapted to control the flow of an agitating fluid (e.g., air) from the influent side to the effluent side. In one embodiment, the agitation system includes an agitating tank that stores the agitating fluid, and a series of valves to control the flow of backwash fluid and agitating fluid. In another embodiment, the assembly further includes a control system that controls the backwash system and the agitation system. Preferably, the control system is programmed to pulse the agitation system during operation of the backwash system.

  • Publication number: 20070080118
Abstract: A wastewater filter assembly comprising a cloth media filter (e.g., a cloth membrane supported by a support cage) having an influent side and an effluent side, an influent valve for controlling flow of influent to the influent side of the filter, a main reservoir (e.g., a tank) in fluid communication with the effluent side of the filter and adapted to hold effluent exiting the filter, and a backwash valve for controlling flow of backwash fluid from the filter. The main reservoir is positioned to hold effluent at a level that is above at least a portion of the filter so that backwashing of the filter can be accomplished using differential head pressure. The assembly can be made of a series of filter cells coupled to each other to form at least part of the filter assembly.
