Abstract: A method and kit for treating a nail surface. The method includes brushing or spraying an adhesive on a coated or uncoated nail surface to form an adhesive-coated surface. A covering (e.g., a curable nail gel, evaporative nail polish, or artificial nail) is then applied to the adhesive-coated surface. The covering is removable by soaking in solvent for less than 20 minutes, peeling, or a combination thereof.

Abstract: A non-aqueous nail polish consisting of: (a) a film-forming resin selected from the group consisting of vinyl acetate polymers and copolymers, vinyl alcohol polymers and copolymers, vinyl chloride polymers and copolymers, no greater than 5% by weight, based upon the weight of the polish, cellulosic polymers, and combinations thereof; (b) one or more organic solvents; and (c) optionally, an additive selected from the group consisting of plasticizers, adhesion promoters, suspending agents, pigments, effects pigments, colorants, optical brighteners, leveling agents, therapeutic agents, and combinations thereof. When applied to a bare nail surface and dried, the polish forms a film that may be peeled off the nail surface without use of a polish remover.

Abstract: A method for removing a radiation-polymerized cosmetic coating from nails comprising applying a solvent system comprising a hydroxyl-containing solvent and a non-hydroxyl-containing solvent to a polymerized nail coating. A two package system comprising a first package comprising polymerizable nail coating composition comprising a (meth)acrylic oligomer, (meth)acrylic monomer, or a mixture of a (meth)acrylic oligomer and a (meth)acrylic monomer, and a photoinitiator, wherein the oligomer or monomer has an acidic or basic ionizable group and a second package comprising a solvent system for removing the polymerizable nail coating composition after it has been applied to a nail and radiation cured, the solvent system comprising a hydroxyl-containing solvent and a non-hydroxyl-containing solvent. A radiation-curable coating composition for human nails is also disclosed.

Abstract: A toothbrush having brush means and a means to support the brush means; and a one or two part therapeutic tooth treatment composition which becomes activated when wet incorporated on the brush means or within the toothbrush means to support the brush means in a manner such that the composition remains inactive during storage and is only activated when contacted with water or saliva; and a method comprising brushing a tooth with the toothbrush so that the brush means become wet with saliva, optionally wetting the brush means with water immediately prior to brushing a tooth, and the composition becomes activated to form a therapeutic composition to provide remineralization, whitening, and/or fluoridation.
