Abstract: A computer telephony system interfaces with a user of a telephone by detecting an off-hook at the telephone. The system then automatically couples the telephone to a speech recognition system and then receives an input from the user to the speech recognition system. The input instructs the system to dial a telephone number or requests some other telecommunication service.
