    Abstract: The present invention relates to a photovoltaic cell device with combined energy conversion and lighting option and a method a controlling such a device. It comprises a responsive element, a reflector or a light source for changing light absorption and thus appearance of photovoltaic cells (e.g. solar panel). It is also possible to combine the responsive element or the reflector with light source(s) providing extra illumination. When combined with a sensor and control unit, ambient intelligent solar panels and ambient intelligent lighting systems can be obtained. A combination of a luminescent solar concentrator (LSC) and light-emitting device is also possible, where an energy storage device is charged by a photovoltaic cell upon irradiation. The energy storage powers one or more light sources which are coupled to the sides of the luminescent plate. The light emitted by the light sources is coupled into the plate and (partly) converted by the luminescent plate.

    Abstract: A tap sensitive alarm clock has a housing (20), a vibration sensor (22) mechanically coupled to the housing for receiving a shock due to a user tapping the housing, and a control circuit (24) coupled to the vibration sensor for controlling a function of the alarm clock. An audio unit (26) is coupled to an audio circuit (25) for generating sound, e.g. a loudspeaker in an alarm clock or a wake up light. To avoid interference of the sound and the vibration sensor, the alarm clock is provided with a filter (23) coupled to the vibration sensor and the control circuit. The filter has a filter curve matched to block frequencies occurring in the sound. Advantageously it is avoided that the sound frequencies trigger the function, while the sensor is sensitive to other frequencies up to the frequency range of the sound for reliably detecting the tapping.

    Abstract: A pressurized flow of breathable gas is delivered to the airway of a subject to facilitate respiration by the subject. To enhance the effectiveness of the pressurized flow of breathable gas, stochastic fluctuations in the level of pressure at or near the airway of the subject are created. These stochastic fluctuations mimic similar oscillations present in so-called “bubble CPAP” systems. Since these stochastic fluctuations are intended to maintain the openness of the airway of the subject, and not to drive ventilation, these fluctuations tend to have a higher frequency and/or lower magnitude than changes in pressure that drive ventilation.

    Abstract: Interactive mesh deformation for in-plane 3D segmentation/delineation for radiation therapy planning done on a slice by slice basis of a region/a volume of interest (VOI, ROI). Segmentation starts by some automatic 3D algorithm approximating the organ surface roughly by some triangular surface mesh which mesh is afterwards manually refined by the user who deforms it to bring it closer to the region of interest. The deformation is an invertible, i.e. one-to-one, mapping avoiding self-intersections of the deformed mesh thereby preserving the topology of the anatomy. The deformation mapping involves a Gaussian function (Gaussian deformation kernel) restricting the deformation to a local region. The user picks with the pointer a start point on a selected image slice through the volume and moves it to some end point. The distance the mesh vertices move decreases exponentially with the distance to the start point.
