Abstract: A light output device comprises a first and a second substrate arrangement (1,2), the first substrate arrangement (1) comprising a light output surface of the device. An electrode arrangement (3a,3b) is sandwiched between the substrate arrangements and at least one light source (4) is connected to the electrode arrangement. The first substrate (1) arrangement comprises a light diffuser for changing the level of uniformity of the light output from the light source and the second substrate (2) arrangement comprises a light scattering or reflecting layer. This arrangement uses a scattering substrate arrangement for the substrate from which illumination is provided. In order to enhance the level of uniformity, the opposite substrate arrangement is also either scattering or reflecting.

Abstract: An invitation message (112, 116, 120) is sent from a concentrator (102) to nodes in a network. Each node records (124) an identifier (126) of the node or concentrator from which it received the message and forwards (122) the message to its neighbors. A node (108) then sends a trace message (132, 134, 136) to the concentrator (102) via intermediate nodes (106, 104) traversed by the invitation message in reaching the node and appends thereto the identifiers of the intermediate nodes. The concentrator then uses source routing to send a subsequent message (144, 146, 148) to the node (108) using the identifiers included in the trace message. The invitation message and/or the subsequent message includes characteristics) (200) of the concentrator one or more of which are then stored by nodes, including node (108). The characteristic(s) are used in deciding (206, 208) to send further trace messages, thereby regulating use of network bandwidth.
Abstract: A computer reviews card designs for color changes in a fabric pattern that might cause mixed contours in the fabric woven by a Jacquard design. The computer displays problem positions of the card designs that cannot be corrected by correction lift plans and suggests changes to the card designs. When permitted the computer automatically changes the card designs to avoid mixed contours.
Abstract: According to an embodiment of the present invention, an automated computer implemented method for detecting one or more data compromises comprises the steps of detecting an activity indicative of a data compromise based at least in part on a compromise detection report involving at least one of merchant compromise report, region compromise report and acquirer compromise report, wherein the compromise detection report is generated by an automated detection algorithm; classifying the activity based on a combination of risk level, size of data compromise and fraud severity; and identifying a specific mitigation response to the activity through an interface. Another embodiment of the present invention determines whether one or more accounts associated with the activity have been probed or tested by a fraudster to determine if the one or more accounts are valid.

Abstract: There is provided a fall detection system comprising a fall detector for monitoring the movement of a user and detecting if the user has fallen or is about to fall, one or more sensors for collecting measurements of one or more physical characteristics of the user, wherein the fall detector uses the measurements to adapt the fall detection to the physical characteristics of the user.
Abstract: A vacuum cleaner filter bag with an inlet opening including a deflection device and an air-permeable material is provided. The deflection device is arranged in the interior of the vacuum cleaner filter bag in the area of the inlet opening and which is implemented such that an air current flowing in through the inlet opening can be deflected by the deflection device. The air-permeable material layer is arranged in the interior of the vacuum cleaner filter bag, is connected to the vacuum cleaner filter bag at least one point, and includes at least one part that is not connected to the vacuum cleaner filter bag and that includes part of the boundary of the material layer.
Abstract: Systems and methods for achieving multiple supply voltage compatibility of an input/output (I/O) ring of an integrated circuit (IC) chip. The IC chip includes a core surrounded by the I/O ring which includes a voltage detector circuit. An I/O supply voltage of the IC chip is sensed by the voltage detector circuit to generate a control signal. The control signal is used to configure the I/O ring to operate at the I/O supply voltage of the I/O ring, thus enabling the IC to operate at multiple supply voltage levels.
Abstract: A DC/AC power inverter control unit of a resonant-type power converter circuit (400), in particular a DC/DC converter, for supplying an output power for use in a high-voltage generator circuitry of an X-ray radiographic imaging system, a 3D rotational angiography device, or X-ray computed tomography device, comprises an interphase transformer (406) connected in series to at least one series resonant tank circuit (403a and 403a? or 403b and 403b?) at the output of two DC/AC power inverter stages (402a+b) supplying a multi-primary winding high-voltage transformer (404). The interphase transformer (406) removes a difference (?I) in resonant output currents and (I1 and I2) of the DC/AC power inverter stages (402a+b). In addition, a control method is disclosed which assures that the interphase transformer (406) is not saturated. Furthermore, the control method ensures zero current operation and provides for minimized input power losses.
