Abstract: A multi-view display includes a view forming arrangement having a first view forming structure spaced by a first distance from a display panel for providing multiple views across a first direction, and a second view forming arrangement spaced by a second distance from the display panel for providing multiple views across a second perpendicular direction. An angular width of the multiple views in the two directions can thus be independently defined.

Abstract: A medical device includes a conductive body having a surface and a sensor conformally formed on the surface and including a piezoelectric polymer formed about a portion of the surface and following a contour of the surface. The piezoelectric polymer is configured to generate or receive ultrasonic energy. Electrical connections conform to the surface and are connected to an electrode in contact with the piezoelectric polymer. The electrical connections provide connections to the piezo electric polymer and are electrically isolated from the conductive body over a portion of the surface.

Abstract: A system for causing a dynamic interface adjustment includes a user device. The user device includes an active financial interface associated with a financial institution. The system further includes a computer system communicatively coupled to the user device. The computer system is configured to receive, via the user device, a sensory input associated with a customer of the financial institution, determine a sensory impairment associated with the customer based on the sensory input, and cause a dynamic interface adjustment of the active financial interface in response to the determination of the sensory impairment.

Abstract: An apparatus for generating a three-dimensional image representation of a scene comprises a receiver (301) receiving a tiled three-dimensional image representation of a scene from a first viewpoint, the representation comprising a plurality of interconnected tiles, each tile comprising a depth map and a texture map representing a viewport of the scene from the first viewpoint and the tiles forming a tiling pattern. A first processor (311) determines neighboring border regions in at least a first tile and in a second tile in response to the tiling pattern. A second processor (309) modifies at least a first depth value of a first border region of the first tile in response to at least a second depth value in a second border region of the second tile, the border regions being neighboring regions. The modified depth maps may be used to generate a mesh based on which images may be generated.

Abstract: An apparatus for determining an enhanced image of a vascular treatment provides (12) a plurality of images including a representation of a region of interest of a vascular structure. Each of the plurality of images includes image data of at least one localizing feature associated with at least one tool configured to be used in the vascular treatment. Each of the plurality of images also includes image data associated with the at least one tool. Registration information for each of the images of the plurality of images is determined (14). At least two images from the plurality of images are selected (16) as a function of the registration information for each of the images. An enhanced image that provides for enhanced visibility of the at least one tool is determined (20). Data representative of the enhanced image is output (24).

Abstract: Sleep related conditions of a subject are monitored and/or diagnosed based on both sleep quality and apnea hypopnea index. A first sleep test is performed in which a sleep quality of the subject and an apnea-hypopnea index are determined. A determination is made as to whether results of the first sleep test meet a first condition based on both the sleep quality and apnea-hypopnea index of the subject associated with the first sleep test. Responsive to the results of the first sleep test failing to meet the first condition, a recommendation of a treatment for the subject is provided. An efficacy of the treatment is confirmed in a second sleep test involving the treatment by determining whether results of the second sleep test meet the first condition based on both the sleep quality and apnea-hypopnea index of the subject associated with the second sleep test.

In one embodiment, in an information processing apparatus comprising at least one computer processor, a method for interacting with a plurality of distributed ledgers may include: (1) receiving a client request comprising a payload to be written to one of a plurality of distributed ledgers and metadata extracted from the client request; (2) identifying a destination distributed ledger of the plurality of distributed ledgers; (3) logging a source of the request and the destination distributed ledger; (4) encrypting the payload; and (5) routing the encrypted payload to the destination distributed ledger.

Abstract: An actuator device comprises an EAP structure which deforms in response to a drive signal applied to the device, a device output being derived from movement of the EAP structure. A delay arrangement is used such that the mechanical output from the device is not generated for a first range or type of applied drive signals, and said device output is generated for a second range or type of applied drive signals. This device is for example particularly suitable for use in a passive matrix system.

Abstract: Techniques are described for performing secure card not present (CNP) transactions using integrated circuit chip-enabled cards. The techniques include continually or periodically tracking a location of a user's card by a user computing device, e.g., a “smart” phone, and storing a log of datasets relating to the location of the user's card at a server device. Based on the tracking, the user computing device may alert the user via a push notification or other message when the user's card is not within a preset range of the user computing device. In addition, an authentication server determines a location of a purchaser computing device attempting to perform a CNP transaction using the user's card information, and compares the location of the purchaser computing device with a most recent location of the user's card retrieved from the log of datasets to determine whether to approve the CNP transaction.

Abstract: A registration apparatus registers an elongated introduction element (18), like a catheter or a needle, during an interventional procedure, for instance, a brachytherapy or a biopsy. A guide element (13) includes at least one opening which guides the introduction element when being introduced into a living being (2) through the opening. A temperature profile generation element (14) associated with the opening generates a characteristic temperature profile at the opening for being transferred to the introduction element when being present in the opening. A temperature determination unit (15) determines a temperature along the introduction element, and a registration unit (16) registers the introduction element. The registering includes identifying the transferred characteristic temperature profile on the introduction element based on the determined temperature. This allows the registration unit to register the introduction element during the introduction process in a simple and efficient manner.

Abstract: A medical instrument includes a magnetic resonance (MR) imaging system with an imaging zone and a gradient coil system with three orthogonal gradient coils. A processor controls the medical instrument to: repeatedly control the MR imaging system with calibration pulse sequence commands to acquire the MR calibration data for multiples slices using at least one of the three orthogonal gradient coils to generate the slice select gradient magnetic field; compute a Fourier transform of the MR calibration data for each of the voxels of the multiple slices in the phase encoding directions; compute an expansion of the Fourier transformed MR calibration data into spherical harmonics; and calculate a three-dimensional gradient impulse response function for the at least one of the three orthogonal gradient coils using the expansion into spherical harmonics.

The user transaction is initiated upon receiving a confirmation indicating selection of the identified first payment format and the identified first attribute package. The user transaction is held open for a predetermined period of time to allow the user to modify the selected first payment format or the selected first attribute package for the user transaction to a different attribute package or a different payment format.

Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for determining soil properties comprising a probe including at least a liquid injection port and a pressure transducer. The probe is pushed into a soil and one or more pumping tests are carried out, wherein during a pumping test infiltration liquid is pumped through the liquid injection port of the probe. The pressure response in the soil resulting from the injection of liquid through the liquid injection port is measured for each of the one or more pumping tests.
