Patent number: 10680162Abstract: An actuator device is provided having a controllable stiffness profile, wherein an actuator member (12) comprises an electroactive polymer material (16) having light absorbing filler elements (20) embedded therein. The filler elements are adapted to absorb and convert incident light (26) to heat energy to therefore heat surrounding sections of the electroactive material. By selectively controlling an intensity level or spectral composition of a light source (24) directed at the actuator member, a specific degree and spread of heating can be achieved across the member and, as a result, a specific desired stiffness or flexibility profile can be realised across the actuator member.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 2017Date of Patent: June 9, 2020Assignee: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS N.V.Inventors: Eduard Gerard Marie Pelssers, Petrus Cornelis Hendriks, Franciscus Johannes Gerardus Hakkens, Achim Hilgers, Daan Anton Van Den Ende, Mark Thomas Johnson

Patent number: 10678683Abstract: The invention relates to a computer-implemented system and method for service level testing and regression. The method may comprise the steps of automatically intercepting service requests from users; storing the service requests in a test database; generating a set of service request test cases from the service requests, wherein the test cases represent substantially all forms of service requests but eliminate redundant service requests, e.g., those that are different only due to input data; executing service testing using all of the test cases; and generating a report of results from the service testing. The step of executing service testing may comprise testing of an earlier code version to generate a baseline response and testing a current code version to generate a target response. The step of generating a report may comprise generating a regression test report that includes the baseline response and the target response for the test cases.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 2018Date of Patent: June 9, 2020Assignee: JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A.Inventors: Vipul Ranjan, Srinivasa R. Patent number: 10680796Abstract: A secure calculation is performed on at least one input value. The calculation includes a number of operations, with a first operation performed on the input value, and subsequent operations performed on results produced by previous operations. An initial encryption rank is set, based on the number of operations to be performed in the calculation. The input value is encoded, together with the initial encryption rank. The calculation is then performed, such that the first operation is performed on the encoded input value to produce an encoded result, and subsequent operations are performed on respective encoded results produced by previous operations to produce further encoded results. A new encryption rank is set when an operation in the calculation is performed on the encoded input value or on an encoded result produced by a previous operation, such that the encoded result of said operation in the calculation has the new encryption rank.Type: GrantFiled: May 5, 2016Date of Patent: June 9, 2020Assignee: Koninklijke Philips N.V.Inventors: Hendrik Jan Jozef Hubertus Schepers, Paulus Mathias Hubertus Mechtildis Antonius Gorissen

Patent number: 10674993Abstract: An ultrasonic diagnostic imaging system is described which quantifies regurgitant flow through a mitral valve. A flow quantification processor (34) in the ultrasound system produces a mathematical model of a flow velocity field proximal to a regurgitant orifice. The velocity field model produces values of velocity vectors directed toward the regurgitant orifice. These modeled values are modified for the effects of ultrasound physics and ultrasound system operation to produce expected velocity values. The expected velocity values are compared with actual Doppler velocities measured by the ultrasound system, and the differences accumulated to a mean square error which is used to adjust parameters of the model such as the orifice location and flow velocities. When this iterative processing converges with a desired comparison, parameters derived from the finally adjusted model are used to calculate the true orifice location, flow rate, and volume flow.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 2011Date of Patent: June 9, 2020Assignees: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS N.V., GEORGIA TECH RESEARCHInventors: Qifeng Wei, Karl Thiele, Ajit Yoganathan, Choon-Hwai Yap

Patent number: 10675234Abstract: The present invention generally relates to skin care and, in particular, to systems and methods for treating and/or preventing acne. Acne is believed to be caused by a combination of factors, including Propionibacterium acnes bacteria, excess sebum production, and inflammation from the immune response (e.g., in response to P. acnes). Certain aspects of the invention are thus directed to one or more compositions that collectively target these factors, although it should be understood that a single composition may target more than one factor at a time. For instance, in one set of embodiments, a treatment may include a first composition that cleans the skin, a second composition that contains growth inhibitor of P. acnes (e.g., for use during the day), and a third composition that inhibits sebum production (e.g., for use during the night). One or more of these may contain other components, such as anti-inflammatory agents, moisturizers, topical anti-microbial agents (e.g., salicylic acid), or the like.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2019Date of Patent: June 9, 2020Assignee: N.V.
