  • Patent number: 11985535
Abstract: On a control plane or on a user plane of a communication system, a parameter of service quality for a session between a user equipment and a data network is received (S2B01), the parameter is evaluated (S2B02) for a change of the parameter, and based on the evaluation (S2B03), the change of the parameter is reported (S2B04) to the control plane of the communication system. On the control plane, the parameter is received (S2A01). The parameter is evaluated (S2A02), and based on the evaluation (S2A03), re-location of a user plane network function is initiated and/or a new user plane network function is inserted (S2A04).

  • Patent number: 11985681
Abstract: A method may include receiving, by a user equipment from a network entity, a first downlink (DL) control signal activating semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) of a first set of downlink data transmissions, the downlink control signal indicating an applicable hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback timing for the first set of downlink data transmissions and receiving one or more of the first set of downlink data transmissions. The user equipment may determine that an applicable HARQ feedback timing for a second set of downlink data transmission previously received with an inapplicable HARQ feedback timing has not been provided. In response to the determination, the user equipment may determine a HARQ feedback timing for the one or more of the first set of downlink data transmissions based a second DL control signal indicating an applicable HARQ feedback timing received after reception of the one or more of the first set of downlink data transmissions.

  • Patent number: 11985627
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to determination of terminal device's identify. A terminal device determines an identity (ID) of the terminal device based on configuration status of extended Discontinuous Reception (eDRX) and current Radio Resource Control (RRC) state of the terminal device; and determines one or both of paging frame (PF) and paging occasion (PO) based on the determined ID of the terminal device. In this way, paging in the eDRX can work well in RRC idle state or RRC inactive state, and the network and the UE may be synchronized with UE's PF and PO for paging in the eDRX.

  • Patent number: 11985699
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) selects first and second radio resources from respective first and second pools of radio resources. In one example these are primarily allocated for contention-free and scheduling-based channel access, respectively. Content to duplicate in parallel communications is selected based at least on a characteristic of uplink data waiting to be sent (such as size) and/or on the selected first and second radio resources (such as timing difference between them). The UE transmits the selected content on each of the selected first and second radio resources. In the examples the content to duplicate was selected from among the uplink data to send and a scheduling request message. In various embodiments one of these transmissions indicates it's a duplicate, and the duplicated scheduling request message is transmitted on the first resource with the uplink data. These teachings are particularly useful for URLLC data.

  • Patent number: 11985585
Abstract: A communication system includes a service responsible for sending signaling to a user equipment or an access network serving the user equipment. The service receives a request to send the signaling to the user equipment or the access network together with access type control information indicating whether the signaling is transmittable using any of a plurality of access types or a specific access type provided in the request. The service selectively forwards the signaling to the user equipment or the access network based on the access type control information.
