Abstract: A system and method for monitoring a patient's blood flow waveform require a pulse oximeter to non-invasively measure changes in parametric and blood flow measurements of the waveform. These parametric measurements, namely changes in diastolic pressure, ±?pd, changes in systolic pressure, ±?ps, and changes in pulse time rate, ±?tr, collectively affect the patient's blood flow volume. Thus, they can also be used, collectively, to assess the patient's heart muscle function as an indicator of his/her health condition.

At least one ELAS is attached to an airfoil, and each ELAS comprises: a nacelle; and electric duct fan (EDF) housed within the nacelle; an optional pylon perpendicularly connected beneath the nacelle; an optional slat; and one or more drag elements, pivotably connected through a range of angles to airflow. Each drag element comprises a hinged plate, or a pair of opposing plates, connected to a pilot's control element able to rotate the plates to create a range of drag levels or to stow away. The drag elements are connected to the airfoil leading edge, the nacelle, pylon, or slat; and may further comprises holes. As ELAS assembly may comprise one or more ELAS systems attached to an airfoil (aerodynamic lifting element—ALE).

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide systems and methods for averting, shedding, or otherwise managing ice accretions that may develop during flight of an aircraft. Example systems and methods selectively modulate propeller parameters in a way that does not disrupt a flight trajectory; direct oil from a lubrication and cooling path to targeted sections of ice-prone surfaces to manage ice accretion in a way that does not unduly increase the total volume of oil, require larger pumps, or complicate the system; or generate heat at targeted areas of a propeller assembly by electric heating systems that utilize propeller motion.

Abstract: Systems and methods for releasing one or more non-gaseous remediating components into a packaged beverage upon opening of the packaged beverage are provided herein. For example, a cartridge includes a cap that is releasably secured to a top end of a cylindrical body. The cylindrical body may include an inner chamber and an outer chamber. The outer chamber may fill with dissolved gas when the outer chamber reaches a pressure equilibrium with the packaged beverage. The cap may include a pinhole orifice configured to restrict fluid flow between the outer chamber and an environment external to the cartridge such that when the packaged beverage is opened, the pinhole orifice restricts the gas within the outer chamber from flowing to the external environment, thereby causing the cap to decouple from the top end of the cylindrical body and release the remediating components housed in the inner chamber into the packaged beverage.
