    Abstract: The present invention is directed to a calcium rich preparation which is prepared by soaking fish scales in an acidic solution for a defined period of time. This fish scale extract can be used as food supplement to prevent or reduce the risk of bone loss or other calcium deficiencies. The calcium form in this fish scale extract can be readily absorbed by the skin.
