  • Publication number: 20240148349
Abstract: A method of processing a mammogram image, including receiving a digital mammography image of a breast of a patient, and separating the digital mammography image into three channels. The method includes removing noise and uneven illumination to form a first set of three uniform background images, and separating a luminance channel and a chrominance channel from the first set with a transfer function to form a second set of three uniform background images. The method includes applying principal component analysis to the second set; and assembling a single grayscale image and applying a first subspace projection. The method includes removing at least a portion of a pectoral muscle from the grayscale image, and normalizing the muscle removed image using a second order Gaussian Laplacian and an oriented diffusion filter to form a processed image. The method includes identifying cancerous and/or noncancerous regions in the processed image.

  • Patent number: 10809220
Abstract: The synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs)/meso-porous silicon (PSi) nanocomposite and its effective use as efficient chemical sensor and photocatalyst are described. The PSi was prepared via a simple stain etching of Si microparticles in HF/HNO3 aqueous solution, followed by the deposition of AgNPs onto stain etched PSi by the immersion plating technique. The resultant nanocomposite is used successfully for (i) enhanced electro-oxidation and quantification of ascorbic acid (AA) on modified glassy carbon electrode and (ii) for the photo-reduction of hexavalent chromium Cr(VI) to trivalent Cr(III) under direct visible light irradiation in the presence of citric acid.

  • Patent number: 9512055
Abstract: A process for the direct oxidation of methane to C1-oxygenates (formaldehyde and methanol) has been developed. The process involves a gas stream, comprising methane, an oxidizing agent (such as air, or oxygen blended with an inert diluent), and a nitrogen oxide as a gas phase sensitizer at oxidation conditions to produce C1-oxygenates, such as formaldehyde and methanol. A certain proportion of nitrogen oxide, which acts as a radical initiator, in the stream is crucial to achieve a high yield of formaldehyde and methanol. In addition, the temperature plays an important role in the conversion of methane and in the selectivity to C1-oxygenates.
