  • Patent number: 6603859
Abstract: A speaker with drive mechanism includes a plurality of speakers which can be moved individually or moved simultaneously without variations in positioning. The speaker with drive mechanism includes a memory, a memory for storing a current position of the speaker. When remote control signals indicating a speaker moving instruction are received, the received remote control signals are counted and the current position stored in the memory is updated. The result moves the commanded speaker to an updated address. Remote control signals indicating a relative speaker moving instruction may also be used to update the address in the memory.

  • Patent number: 6157607
Abstract: A disk transferring device has a driven disk guide and a fixed disk guide. The fixed disk guide includes a plurality of guide blocks, each having a guide groove. At least one of the guide blocks is a straightening arm that is rotateably mounted on the fixed disk guide through a first and second gear. A spring biases the second gear so that the straightening arm is biased toward a front of the device. As a disk is inserted, the guides move apart. When the guides are moved a predetermined distance, a stopper engages with the second gear and forces it to rotate against the biasing force of the spring. This causes the straightening arm to move into a recessed position away from the disk.

  • Patent number: 5881045
Abstract: A disk player has a disk drive mechanism with rollers engaging a perimeter surfaces of a disk. Two rollers engage an upper surface and two roller engage a lower surface. One of the rollers is coupled to a drive source to rotate the disk. Disks are transported upon carriages which are stored in a magazine. The center of each disk is supported upon an idler turntable disposed on a carriage. A selected carriage is moved by a transport mechanism from the magazine to place a disk thereon engagement with the rollers. The upper two rollers bias the center aperture of the disk downward upon the idler turntable as the two lower rollers act as pivots. A stable triangular region of support thus is defined by the two lower rollers and the idler turntable. An optical head is mounted in a fixed position within the chassis and the rollers and turntable are moved to advance the disk over the optical head for scanning.

  • Patent number: 5854776
Abstract: A changer-equipped player uses an n number of carriages which can hold up to an n number of discs in storage positions in a stocker. These carriages carry discs between the stocker and a movable tray for play and for loading and unloading. One of the n number of carriages, carriage S, is usable in a single-play mode, allowing the player to be used as a tray equipped single-play device. Carriage S may be selected for single-play regardless of the number of discs stored in the remaining n-1 number of carriages. The remaining n-1 number of carriages are usable only in changer-player operation. Loading discs into the device is accomplished by placing discs into empty carriages as each is held in the tray in an eject position. The stocker is not removed for loading discs or for removing or replacing the discs stored within it. During changer-playback operation, the device selects and plays all stored discs in a predetermined sequence. During single-play operation, the device plays only the disc in carriage S.

  • Patent number: 5005163
Abstract: A circuit for shifting the level of a signal inputted in the focussing or tracking servocircuit provided with an automatic gain control device in an optical disc apparatus. The circuit comprises a plurality of variable gain amplifiers arranged at a stage prior to detecting a focussing or tracking error and forming the corresponding error signal, inclusive of gain set apparatus for selecting one of a plurality of gains of said gain amplifiers depending on the detected level range of the light quantity reflected from the optical disc.

  • Patent number: 4788606
Abstract: A tape feed control device is configured to detect resolutions of respective reels so as to supply respective reel motors with tension currents i.sub.t1 and i.sub.t2 for setting a tape tension to establish a predetermined tape tension of a tape extending between the reels, and so as to supply the reel motors with acceleration and deceleration currents i.sub.s1 and i.sub.s2 based on an acceleration/deceleration current ratio .alpha. to transport the tape. In this fashion, a desired tape speed is obtained, maintaining a constant tape tension.
