Patents Assigned to National Agricultural Research Organization
  • Patent number: 6537826
Abstract: An apparatus and a process for preparing a material, such as a sample, for analysis, observation, recording or the like, at a high accuracy, by a simple construction and simple operation, which can form a cut face and/or a cut rift while preventing deformation, destruction and denaturing of the material. The process involves embedding a part of the material (11) in a filler (13) in a holder (4) of a holding unit (1) under settling with a settling means (5), holding the protruding portion (11b) of the material (11) by a protruding portion support (7) of a mount (2), freezing the material (11) instantaneously by dry ice placed in dry ice wells (6a, 6b) while effecting a gas phase replacement and cutting the material (11) by a cutter (22) to form a cut face (14) and/or a cut rift (15).

  • Patent number: 6388174
Abstract: A DNA sequence is provided, which encodes an enzyme that is the &agr;-subunit of the first isozyme of rice anthranilate synthase (ASA). Transformed plants having a high tryptophan content can be regenerated by culturing the plant cells having introduced therein such a recombinant vector which contains, at a position downstream of a promoter, an inserted DNA fragment carrying the above DNA sequence. In addition, methods of selecting transformed plant cells are disclosed, wherein plant cells transformed with the discloses DNA are resistant to inhibitory concentrations of tryptophan or tryptophan analogues.

  • Publication number: 20020045990
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and a system for searching for relationships between base sequences in order to efficiently analyze the relationship between a sample base sequence and known base sequences. In the system, a theoretical value calculating portion calculates theoretical restriction fragment length values based on restriction enzyme data. The comparing portion produces analysis result data by comparing theoretical restriction fragment patterns with measured restriction fragment patterns, calculating the degree of similarity of the sample base sequence to known base sequences.
