Patents Assigned to National Airoil Burner Company, Inc.
  • Patent number: 4140471
Abstract: A ground flare stack is described having a plurality of stages for combustion to accommodate various quantities of combustible waste gas, the stack having a dished base of gravel with a central combustion chamber with an enlarged opening at the bottom for entrance of air to support combustion, the central combustion chamber having an enlargement at its upper end with a converging discharge, a plurality of stages of combustion being provided within the chamber, the central combustion chamber being surrounded by a stack in spaced relation with a converging portion disposed around the combustion chamber enlargement and a cylindrical stack thereabove, with a diode to prevent downflow through the cylindrical stack, an acoustical and wind shielding fence being around the bottom of the stack permitting air to be supplied to the bottom of the stack and of the combustion chamber, additional stages of combustion being provided outwardly of the upper end of the central combustion chamber.

  • Patent number: 4009989
Abstract: A combination gas and oil burner is disclosed for heating a radiant wall in a reforming furnace for petroleum refinery processes or the like to provide heat for radiation by the wall and in which oil, gas, or both fuels, may be employed, the burners being readily removable for inspection and maintenance, and in which operation can be effected with one fuel with the apparatus for the other fuel being removed without shutting down the operation, and with greater stability attained by surrounding the flame passageways with refractory faces.

  • Patent number: 3960064
Abstract: A tall stack construction which may be used for the discharge of products of combustion or may be used as a flare stack with a burner at the top end for combustion of waste products from oil refineries or other chemical processes, the stack pipe being supported by a derrick in the form of a tripod with lateral support guy wires each extending over a pulley carried by one of the tripod legs and with their ends connected to a plate on the stack pipe. Additional stability is obtained by diagonal guy wires in tension extending from the bottom of the stack to the foundation in one embodiment. The stack pipe may be fixed to the derrick at the top or the bottom, may have a disentrainment drum at the bottom and may be supported in slidable engagement at the top of the derrick for expansion and for separation of the disentrainment drum.
