Patent number: 7460770Abstract: An underwater housing for containing a monitoring device includes a tubular housing body having a front end formed with an inward flange. The inward flange has a rear side surface formed with an annular groove defined by a groove-defining wall. A transparent plate is disposed fixedly within the housing body, and is located behind and adjacent to the inward flange. An annular water seal is disposed within the annular groove and in contact with the inward flange and an outer peripheral portion of the front side surface of the transparent plate so as to establish a watertight seal between the transparent plate and the housing body. An annular cover is disposed fixedly and fittingly within the inward flange, and has a rear end in contact with the front side surface of the transparent plate and in proximity to the water seal for covering the water seal.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 2006Date of Patent: December 2, 2008Assignee: National Applied Research Laboratories National Center for High-Performance ComputingInventors: Kuen-Yu Huang, Yao-Tsung Wang, Po-Wen Chen

Patent number: 7322733Abstract: A light guide plate having micro-reflectors is to increase luminance of the light guide plate by changing light route. The light guide plate includes an incidence plane, an illuminating plane, and a bottom. Each of the micro-reflectors is disposed at the bottom and intersected with the light guide plate in a direction heading for a recess provided at the bottom of the light guide plate, and comprises a light reflection plane located between the incidence plane and the illuminating plane to define an angle ?. The light reflection plane is an arc quadrilateral or a sector when observed from top of the illuminating plane. The arc quadrilateral has two concentric arc sides parallel with each other.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 2005Date of Patent: January 29, 2008Assignee: Applied Research Laboratories, National Center for High-Performance ComputingInventors: Jee-Gong Chang, Yu-Bin Fang, Chi-Feng Lin

Patent number: 7253841Abstract: A remote control method of tile display is disclosed for a tile display system, which contains a host computer, several projector modules, and a screen. The images produced by the projector modules are simultaneously displayed on the screen as a single image. The remote control method includes the steps of: obtaining setting parameters of each projector using a control program on the host computer via a network; storing the setting parameters of each projector in a storage module of the host computer; simultaneously generating a projector parameter table for each projector; updating the projector parameter table when the parameters of any projector are modified; generating a control message for the corresponding projector according to the new parameter table; transmitting the control message to the corresponding projector via the network; and converting the control message into one recognizable by the projector in order to make corresponding modifications.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 2004Date of Patent: August 7, 2007Assignees: National Applied Research Laboratories, National Center for High-Performance ComputingInventors: Whey-Fone Tsai, Fang-Pang Lin, Yun-Te Lin, Yu-Chung Chen, Yung-Ching Mai, Shi-Wei Lo, Tai-Hung Chen

Publication number: 20060039288Abstract: A network status monitoring and warning method is disclosed. A test packet is transmitted intermittently to a test host. The IP addresses of all connected devices that transmit this test packet are extracted as the path data to be compared with expert data. The different addresses are considered as the address of those devices with problems. Alarms are then sent to those problematic devices in order to maintain an optimized path connection status. Therefore, the service interruption time for all connection devices can be reduced and the network is always maintained at its best connection status.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 17, 2004Publication date: February 23, 2006Applicant: National Applied Research Laboratories National Center For High-performance ComputingInventors: Che-Nan Yang, Min Chen, Ray-Ming Hsu
