Patent number: 5642831Abstract: A drinking container is provided having a liquid containing portion and a slidably displaceable sleeve member. The slidably displaceable sleeve member is located adjacent the liquid containing portion. The liquid containing portion has a bottom surface. The sleeve member has a sidewall and a bottom surface. The sleeve member in a first position has its bottom surface spaced apart from the bottom surface of the liquid containing portion a first distance, while the sleeve member in a second position has its bottom surface spaced apart from the bottom surface of the liquid containing portion a second distance. The drinking container preferably has an upwardly projecting wall having at least one engaging member. Additionally, the sleeve member has a plurality of channels formed in its sidewall. The drinking container is formed having a first wall member and a second wall member, such that the sleeve member is retained between the first and second wall members.Type: GrantFiled: October 20, 1995Date of Patent: July 1, 1997Assignee: National Packaging CorporationInventor: L. Patent number: 5586676Abstract: A drinking container cap is provided having an exterior surface, and an interior surface, with the interior surface having a stirrer depending downwardly therefrom. Preferably the interior surface has formed thereon a stirrer receptacle, with the stirrer receptacle itself being generally cylindrical. The stirrer mechanically engages with the stirrer receptacle, and is detachable therefrom. The stirrer receptacle has an inner and an outer surface, with an indentation in its inner surface. The stirrer has a shank end and a terminal end, with the shank end having a bulged area which engages with the indentation, and the terminal end having a bowl portion. In the preferred embodiment of the invention the stirrer receptacle has two notches formed therein, and the stirrer has two projections extending outwardly from the shank end, with the notches being on opposite sides of the stirrer receptacle and the projections being on opposite sides of the stirrer.Type: GrantFiled: October 20, 1995Date of Patent: December 24, 1996Assignee: National Packaging CorporationInventor: L. The insert is adapted to be displaceable axially along the interior surface of the aperture sidewall in a first and a second direction. It is adapted when displaced axially in the first direction to cooperatively engage with the aperture sidewall so as to form a fluid-tight seal. The insert is adapted when displaced axially in the second direction to permit the passage of liquid through the aperture. The cap is adapted to be retained in fluid-tight sealing relationship with a liquid container by a screw-thread.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 1992Date of Patent: November 9, 1993Assignee: National PackagingInventor: Larry G. Patent number: 4339039Abstract: A cushion for packaging an article in a container comprising flexible foam material and a pliable non-porous cover contiguously surrounding the foam material. The cover may include a lip which may be secured to the container. A plurality of air vents in the cover adjacent the lip control the flow of air out of the cover when the foam is compressed. By controlling the air flow out of the foam material, the dynamic resistance of the cushion may be increased, so that more force is absorbed by the cushion when an external force is applied to the container than would be absorbed if exposed foam material were used. A plurality of cushions may be secured to the inside of the container to hold the article snugly in place.Type: GrantFiled: July 25, 1980Date of Patent: July 13, 1982Assignee: First National Packaging Co., Inc.Inventor: Laurie G.
