  • Patent number: 4248657
Abstract: A stiff rectangular panel is placed centrally on an adhesive coated rectangular sheet of covering material with marginal edge portions of the sheet extending beyond the panel edges. The panel and sheet are conveyed on a first pass through a roller press and on such pass a leading edge portion of the sheet is engaged by weighted pivoted folding plate segments which fold or turn the edge portion of the sheet upwardly and around the leading edge of the panel and down onto the top face of the panel where the tack of the adhesive holds the folded edge portion of the covering sheet temporarily in place. Immediately following this, a stationary stiff brush engages the folded edge portion of the sheet and presses it tightly against the top face of the panel while the brush bristles simultaneously tuck the opposite end portions of the folded sheet snugly against the advancing longitudinal edges of the panel.

  • Patent number: 4219868
Abstract: A device for mounting and supplying electrical power to a luminaire. The device includes two connectors mounted on opposite sides of a housing which is mounted on the luminaire. The connectors on the device are wired to electrically interconnect two cables and a lighting circuit in the luminaire. Power is applied from one cable through the device to the luminaire and to the other cable which supplies power to another luminaire. A bracket on the top of the housing for mounting the luminaire in a building structure is adjustable in a direction extending linearly between the connectors to compensate for fixture balance and the weight of the cables connected to the device.

Abstract: A device for mounting and supplying electrical power to a luminaire. The device includes three connectors mounted in a housing. The connectors on the device electrically interconnect two cables and a lighting circuit in the luminaire. Power is applied from one cable through the device to the luminaire and to the other cable which supplies power to another luminaire. A bracket on the top of the housing for mounting the device to a building structure is adjustable to compensate for fixture balance and the weight of the cables connected to the device. When the luminaire is releasably attached to the device, one of the connectors on the device engages a mating connector on the luminaire for energizing the lighting circuit. The luminaire can be detached from the device without interrupting power to other luminaires in the same circuit.

  • Patent number: 4180340
Abstract: A binder for carpet samples has a sturdy slotted anchor attached to the binder back with the anchor raised from the binder back in the region of the slot. A binder post has a head at one end for engagement within the slot by a swinging movement of the post relative to the anchor. A pair of lugs on the post and post head coact with the anchor slot to limit rotation of the post during installation. The end of the post away from the anchor is threaded and receives a nut placed above a top flap of the binder. Strength, durability, convenience and economy of manufacturing are featured.

  • Patent number: 4146287
Abstract: An improved relocatable wiring system for supplying lighting and power to a floor area in a building is disclosed. A plurality of lighting fixtures installed in a ceiling structure for lighting the floor area are connected in one or more branch circuits. Each branch circuit is defined by a plurality of plural conductor branch circuit cables which distribute power to the fixtures. Connectors are permanently attached to the opposite ends of each branch circuit cable. A connector at one end of a cable is joined to a connector on the next cable in the branch circuit by a circuit connector module having two receptacles keyed to receive and interconnect the two connectors. The circuit connector module also has a connector which mates with a receptacle permanently attached to a lighting fixture, which connector is in turn connected to a lighting circuit in the fixture.

  • Patent number: 4046358
Abstract: The method may be employed for the mixture of certain types of products which require two or more component chemicals or compounds that must be mixed together immediately prior to use. The method comprises mixing the two compounds in the usual fashion inside of a mixing chamber by continuously supplying each of the compounds to the mixing chamber and then introducing air into the chamber while maintaining the chamber open at one end for the dispensing of the material whereby the air provides agitation for the mixture of the materials and provides a suction forwardly of the mixing chamber to draw the mixed compounds therefrom. The apparatus is in the form of a mixing and dispensing gun which comprises a frame on which there is a previously known arrangement for introducing and supplying two or more chemical components to a mixing chamber thru a mixing block with which is mounted an air control valve system for controlling the entry of the two components.

A plurality of lighting fixtures mounted in a ceiling structure for lighting the floor area are connected in one or more branch circuits. Each branch circuit is defined by a plurality of plural conductor branch circuit cables which distribute power to the fixtures. Each cable connects in series or parallel to both the next cable and the next fixture in the branch circuit. Circuit connections are easily modified for changing power distribution and switching needs by selective insertion of adapters between two series connected cables or between a cable and a connected fixture. Adapters provide for switching circuits and for converting circuit connections.
