    Abstract: The present invention discloses an integrated photonic chip structure for universal quantum walk simulation which combines the multiphoton source that can generate the spatially entangled multi-photon state and the linear optical network that can implement the unitary transformation, and establishes mapping between on-chip spatial-entangled multi-photon state and quantum walk state and mapping between on-chip linear optical unitary transformation and the evolution process of multi-particle quantum walk. By manipulating the spatially entangled multi-photon state generated via the multi-photon sources and the optical unitary transformation implemented via the universal linear optical networks, the chip structure can implement universal quantum walk simulation with the control over all parameters of multiple-particle quantum walks including such as evolution Hamiltonian, evolution time, initial evolution state and particle properties (i.e., particle indistinguishability and particle exchange symmetry).

The method uses the peak value of a cross-correlation value of a received signal and a local sequence as a basis for determining signal detection and system synchronization. Because the cross-correlation value of the received signal and the local sequence is less affected by a signal-to-noise ratio and interference signals, the method can adapt to signal changes, can effectively alleviate the frame loss problem of a received signal autocorrelation based scheme under a low signal-to-noise ratio and interference condition, and also has good anti-noise and anti-interference capabilities.

    Abstract: Reconfigurable nonlinear frequency conversion waveguide chip based on Mach-Zehnder interferometer coupled micro-ring, the method is based on the integration of waveguide components of phase-adjustable Mach-Zehnder interferometers (MZI) and micro-ring resonators. The chip is illustrated by FIG. 1. The MZI couples light and photons into and output of the micro-ring resonator and controls the micorings' quality factor thus optimize the nonlinear frequency conversion processes inside the ring by the phase-modulator inside the MZI. The micro-ring resonator enables the nonlinear optical generation of new frequency light beams and quantum light sources based on the second-order or third-order nonlinear optical process. Other optical waveguide components in region I and III of FIG. 1 are linear optical circuits for power splitting of pump beams and post-process of generated light beams or photons.

    Abstract: The complex temporal-spatial variation of raindrop size distribution will affect the precision of quantitative precipitation estimation (QPE) produced from radar data, making it difficult to correct echo attenuation. This invention presents a method for regional attenuation correction of weather radar using a multiple microwave links (ML) network. By measuring the rain attenuation of multiple microwave links in a specific frequency, matching with the weather radar in time and space and processed with discretization. Based on a series of attenuation values of the microwave link network and combined iterations, the attenuation coefficient of each grids is obtained; the total attenuation value of the path is obtained by combining the distance between the radar and each grid point, by which the reginal attenuation of radar echo can be corrected by the ML network efficiently.

    Abstract: This invention discloses a method for measurement and 3D reconstruction of precipitation particles based on orthogonal dual-view imaging. An orthogonal 3D sampling space are formed by a pair of line camera and continuum light source, two pairs of planar cameras and pulse light sources placed orthogonally. The line camera scans with a speed no less than 20,000 lines per second, two cameras and pulse light sources are triggered when the line camera detects the particles in sampling area, two orthogonal images are recorded by two planar cameras using the double-exposure or multiple-exposure in one frame. The 3D images of particles are obtained by pixel matching and grid reconstruction method, based on which the 3D sizes, axis ratio, orientation, fall velocity, and other characteristics of particles are calculated. This method can measure the 3D micro-physical characteristics of precipitation particles automatically and precisely.
