    Abstract: This invention relates to a guard (10) for a drinking vessel (36) having an opening (34). The guard (10) includes a web (12) adapted to at least seal the opening (34). The web (12) has at least one gap (eg. 16) with first and second edges (22 & 24). The first and second edges (22 & 24) are not on the same plane. The invention also relates to an anchoring means 80 for use in combination with a glass (36A) with a recess (84) in its base (82).
