Abstract: An automated optimization system for generating training plans for airline pilots covering both pilot transitions and assignment to training classes for pilots who have received a system bid award, wherein such training plans are generated in less than one hour by first solving a MIP Model of the training/transition problem with an LP relaxation to determine a first level of feasibility, and then solving the MIP Model for an optimized feasible solution from which the training plan is derived.

Abstract: A system for rapidly generating minimum length pilot training schedules which uses a branch and bound, and a mixed integer programming model with constraints to produce student and resource schedules at a device period level for all pilots of an airline.

Abstract: Open Pairings occurring during airline operations are repaired n at a time (where n is an integer) in near real time through use of two solution paths, one involving one-way fixes, and the other matching transformations. From the resulting multiple solutions, one is selected which is of least cost to the airline.
