    Abstract: An airlift pump apparatus and method is based on the practice of injecting air intermittently into a vertical riser tube at a location above a bottom open end of the riser tube which is submerged in the liquid to be pumped. The intermittently injected air is used to create intermittent airlifts within the tube and cause aerated liquid to be discharged intermittently from an output port of the tube.
