Abstract: A host device is included within a housing of a first peripheral; the host devices includes an internal connection within the housing to the first peripheral. Each composited integrated peripheral device includes two or more second peripherals. A combination of the host device, the composite integrated peripheral devices, standalone peripheral devices, and accessory modules is identified. Housings associated with the combination are attached to, placed on, or placed adjacent to one or more of the accessory modules of the combination. In an embodiment, accessory modules are arranged in a layout that defines a clearance area for custom access and the corresponding peripherals of the combination are connected to the host device. The host device processes self-service transactions for customers with disabilities using the corresponding peripherals and the accessory modules within the layout.

The anonymous session is passed to a selected advertisement service, and the selected advertisement service provides, in response thereto, an interface, which is proxied together with an existing interface of a device (associated with the unique session) during the unique session for a consumer to interact with the proxied interface on the device.

Abstract: A base self-service terminal (SST) system comprises a host device and a first set of peripherals. The base SST system can operate in standalone mode to process self-service transactions when the base SST system is placed on a horizontal surface or mounted to a pedestal. The base SST system processes the self-service transactions utilizing the first set of peripherals and a second set of peripherals when the base SST system is docked within an integrated peripheral device or a peripheral bridge appliance. The integrated peripheral device comprises the second set of peripherals or the second set of peripherals are made available through the peripheral bridge appliance. One or more additional peripherals are attachable and removable from the base SST system and one or more accessory modules are attachable and removable from the base SST system, the integrated peripheral device, and/or the peripheral bridge appliance.

Abstract: Locations of a customer's device are tracked relative to an order placed with an establishment. The establishment is instructed to begin order preparation to coincide with the customer's arrival for the order. Customer's arrival at a pickup location is detected within a geofenced area for a premises of the establishment's location. Sensor data provided for the geofenced area is processed to track a vehicle of the customer within the geofenced area and to identify a specific location within the geofenced area where the vehicle is parked. Delivery staff are notified that the customer has arrived for the order and directed to the specific location where the vehicle is parked.

Abstract: A system and method for verifying a non-scan item at a self-checkout point-of-sale terminals provided. A merchandise item that isn't scanned at the self-checkout terminal is identified by a detection system. Further, a user helper device is provided to verify the incident by prompting the shopper for an input. The user helper device is operably connected to the self-checkout point-of-sale terminal and the detection system to determine and verify a fraudulent incident occurring during a transaction activity by the shoppers. Further, a store attendant device is provided for human intervention when necessary.

Abstract: Interesting features of an object within a physical environment are identified from a video of the physical environment. A model of the object is obtained, the model includes dimensions of the object. A first array is maintained with the pixel coordinates of the identified features within the video. A second array is maintained with the dimensions of the features obtained from the model. A processing framework is provided for using the first and second arrays and estimating, updating, and tracking the anchor pose in the physical environment within the video along with any AR generated objects placed in the video. The framework provided to an Augmented Reality (AR) app to initiate an AR session and to maintain the session.

Abstract: An item return for an item is identified and a workflow is determined based on first factors defined in customized rules. Resources associated with the workflow may be staged on devices associated with the item return and the workflow is initiated. When the item is detected as being present at a drop-off location for the item, item and customer information are gathered in accordance with the customized rules associated with the workflow. Security checks are processed using second factors defined in the customized rules. A decision is made based on the security checks as to whether the item return can continue processing with the workflow or as to whether an item return exception is to be raised for evaluation and/or inspection of the item and item return information collected before the item return exception was raised.

Abstract: Valuable media balancing data and transaction data for valuable media accounts are tagged into categories and a machine-learning model is derived by training the model with the data and actual actions taken to rectify account discrepancies. The model is provided real-time data and produces as output a probability that a given account can have a discrepancy rectified along with recommended actions for resolving the discrepancy and specific transactions that should be investigated with the actions. If different actions are taken to resolve the discrepancy and/or if different transactions were identified as a cause of the discrepancy, the different actions and different transactions are provided as feedback to the model for subsequent training sessions of the model.

Abstract: A system and method for replaying a security video at the time of a fraudulent incident at a point-of-sale checkout terminal is presented. The video playback takes place in real-time, when the event occurs, allowing personnel to take appropriate measures, corrective or otherwise, to deal with the event. Examples of such events may include when a weight-based security alert is triggered at a self-checkout, when a cashier or customer has missed scanning an item at the checkout, or other possible events where rapid replay of relevant video is required.

Abstract: A pusher plate stacking bin apparatus is provided for a valuable media depository. The apparatus comprising a pusher plate driven by a rack and pinion apparatus to stack a media item that is in a final position within the apparatus onto a media stacking platform. The media item is urged into the final position such that a trailing edge of the media item overhangs and rests on a fixed media guide and such that a leading edge of the media item overhangs and rests on a hinged media guide with a bottom surface of the media item elevated above the media stacking platform. The rack and pinion apparatus drives the plate past the media guides causing the hinged media guide to drop and the media item to fold along the leading edge as the media item is stacked onto the platform.

Abstract: A monitoring project is defined interactively through an interface. Resources needed for the project are obtained, configured, arranged, and verified within a target area. Video and audio feeds are captured and analyzed during a project period within the target area and customer interactions and intentions are derived from detected customer behaviors within the feeds. The intentions and behaviors are indexed with aggregated metrics within a data store. The interface provides custom queries, reports, interactive graphics, and real-time notifications from the data store that depict the custom aggregated metrics for the intentions and behaviors of the monitoring project.

Abstract: Images captured for components of a device are monitored for changes by evaluating a first region of interest in the images. Periodically, a command is sent to the device to move one or more of the components to a known position or state. A certain component or set of components associated with being moved based on the command is evaluated in a second region of interest in the images to determine if the corresponding component or set of components is in the known position or state within the images. When the corresponding component or set of components is not identified from the images in the known position or state, a security alert is raised for the device and security operations are processed on the host device.

Abstract: A card reader includes a movable upper surface platform with a lower surface platform including one or more sensors. When there is no card transaction in progress, the upper surface platform moves toward the lower surface platform and locks in place making contact with the lower surface platform. The one or more sensor indicate whether the two surfaces are in contact with one another. When the two surfaces are not in contact with one another, when the card reader is in an idle state, the card reader shuts down/disables since there is foreign object is present in the card reader's transport path, which may indicate a skimmer/shimmer was placed in the card reader.

Abstract: Upon a triggering event, frames of a video feed are analyzed for activity or motion. One frame or a subset of the frames are selected as a keyframe/keyframes based on one or measures associated with one or more metrics derived from the frames. The keyframe/keyframes optimally reflects an activity or degree of motion across the frames. The keyframe/keyframes are then provided as input to a computer vision or machine learning application to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and/or precision of results produced by or decisions made by the application.

Abstract: A media terminal includes two integrated currency devices, each device providing at least one feature/operation that is similar to or is the same as the other device. Two independent sessions to each device are made and presented to a transaction application of the terminal as a single aggregated session. When the transaction application issues a command through the single aggregated session, a decision is made that is transparent to the application as to which device should process the command on behalf of the application and the command is issued to the selected device over the corresponding independent session. Results or notifications provided by the selected device are aggregated and provided to the application over the single aggregated session. In an embodiment, the two integrated currency devices are different types of devices from one another.

Abstract: Cameras capture time-stamped images of predefined areas. Individuals and item are tracked in the images. A time-series set of images are processed to determine actions taken by the individuals with respect to the items or to determine relationships between the individuals to the items.

Abstract: A terminal with two separate displays is provided. The primary display is controlled by a transaction interface for performing transactions. The secondary display is controlled by an animation interface for rendering animations on the secondary display. An agent provides state transitions in the transaction interface to the animation interface and the animation interface transitions the animations rendered on the secondary display based on state changes reported by the agent. The animations rendered on the secondary display provide guidance, positive, and negative feedback to a consumer performing a transaction on the terminal through the transaction interface.
