  • Publication number: 20130057979
Abstract: A library device in which, even if the relation between the number of pulses of a stepping motor and an encoder count number changes, a movement distance of a medium transfer means can be verified by an encoder count number counted by an encoder sensor is provided. A control means (2) determines a proof factor used when calculating an assumed encoder count number assumed based on the number of pulses according to a movement distance of a medium transfer means (5). When a movement distance of the medium transfer means (5) is verified, an assumed encoder count number, which is assumed based on the above-mentioned determined proof factor and the number of pulses according to the movement distance of the medium transfer means (5), and an actual encoder count number, which is counted by an encoder sensor when a stepping motor is driven by the number of pulses according to the movement distance of medium transfer means (5), are compared.

  • Patent number: 8284519
Abstract: In a magnetic head cleaning mechanism applicable to a magnetic tape apparatus employing a threading scheme, a cleaning brush is driven in a small space. The mechanism includes a threading arm to engage a leader block with a leader pin to draw the block engaged with the pin, a magnetic head to conduct data reading and writing operation on a magnetic tape, a rotatably supported brush link arm including a brush at a tip end thereof, and a cam gear disposed on the side of the magnetic head relative to a threader track. Ordinarily, the arm is on the side of the magnetic head relative to the threader track. When the leader block is moved to a position near the leader pin, the arm rotates with rotation of the cam gear to bring the brush into contact with the magnetic head on the threader track.

  • Patent number: 8270113
Abstract: In a magnetic head cleaning mechanism applicable to a magnetic tape apparatus using a threading system, a cleaning member is placed at a cleaning position with high precision without excessively pushing the cleaning member. For this purpose, an arm to move a cleaning bristle to clean a magnetic head is disposed at a position on a side of the magnetic head relative to a threader track. The bristle moves through a moving path guided by a cam groove. The bristle first moves toward the threader track and then toward the cleaning position in front of the magnetic head. During the movement to approach the magnetic head through the moving path, the bristle does not exceed the cleaning position.

  • Patent number: 8134800
Abstract: A stop position adjusting device for an accessor mechanism in an information recording device using a recording cartridge, includes: the accessor mechanism; a first moving mechanism; a second moving mechanism; and an image taking section. The accessor mechanism inserts the recording cartridge into a cell and takes out the recording cartridge from the cell. The first moving mechanism moves the accessor mechanism in a first direction. The second moving mechanism moves the accessor mechanism in a second direction different from the first direction. The image taking section is provided on the accessor mechanism and detects a position of a mark provided near the cell. An adjustment of a stop position of the accessor mechanism for the cell is executed based on the position detected by the image taking section.
