  • Patent number: 11528538
Abstract: A processor system and computer-implemented method are provided for generating a composite video stream which may include a non-volumetric video and a volumetric video, at least part of which is to be displayed in front of the non-volumetric video. The volumetric video may be included in the composite video stream in the form of a non-volumetric representation of the volumetric video, for example inserted into a spatial subregion of the non-volumetric video which may be occluded by the volumetric video during display. The encoding, transmission and decoding may thus not have to be modified to support volumetric video. Signaling data may be provided which may be indicative of the composite video stream containing the non-volumetric representation of the volumetric video. A processor system and computer-implemented method may be provided for rendering the composite video stream using the signaling data.

  • Patent number: 11516521
Abstract: A processor system and computer-implemented method may be provided for generating a composite video stream which may combine a background video and a foreground video stream into one stream. For that purpose, a spatially segmented encoding of the background video may be obtained, for example in the form of a tiled stream. The foreground video stream may be received, for example, from a(nother) client device. The foreground video stream may be a real-time stream, e.g., when being used in real-time communication. The image data of the foreground video stream may be inserted into the background video by decoding select segments of the background video, inserting the foreground image data into the decoded background image data of these segments, and by encoding the resulting composite image data to obtain composite segments which, together with the non-processed segments of the background video, form a spatially segmented encoding of a composite video.

  • Patent number: 11493325
Abstract: Translations of an object in a plurality of different spatial directions are measured using a plurality of interferometers to detect interference with light that has been reflected from a diffusively reflective surface, preferably using diffuse reflection from the same planar surface to measure in each of the different spatial directions. At least the interferometers that measure translation in directions that are not perpendicular to the surface each comprises a single mode fiber and a collimator configured to transmit the outgoing light to the object successively through the single mode fiber and the collimator, and to collect reflection into the single mode fiber with the collimator both along a same beam direction. It has been found that, when reflection of a beam with a beam direction at an oblique angle to a diffusively reflective surface is used, the interference resulting from translation of the object is due substantially only to translation in the beam direction.

  • Patent number: 11470620
Abstract: Embodiments provide functionality for dynamic handling of network slice priorities. In an embodiment, a slice priority manager receives, from a network services node, data indicating changes in network resources available for maintaining instantiated network slices in a communication network. Based on the received data, changes in the network services node's ability to maintain the instantiated network slices are identified and a communication service provider is notified of the change. To continue, slice priority data that indicates a preferred order of a portion of the network slices for allocating the network resources is received from the communication service provider. In turn, an indication of the slice priority data is forwarded to the network services node to update allocation of network resources for the slices.
