Abstract: A method of forming a video signal by a decoder device is described wherein the method comprises receiving a bit-stream and decoder information, the decoder information signaling the decoder device the presence of one or more resolution components in the bitstream for forming a video signal, a resolution component representing a spatially subsampled version, preferably a polyphase subsampled version, of a first video signal having a first resolution, the one or more resolution components being part of a resolution component group, the group comprising a plurality of resolution components on the basis of which the first video signal is reconstructable; and, the decoder device parsing the bitstream and decoding the one or more resolution components into video frames on the basis of the decoder information.

Abstract: A system for sending a relay notification comprises a transceiver and a processor. The processor is configured to use the transceiver to receive a request for allowing a mobile device to be used by a further mobile device as a relay to a mobile communication network. The processor is further configured to determine whether the mobile device is to act as a relay for the further mobile device based on the unique identifier of the further mobile device, and to use the transceiver to notify the mobile device that it is to act as a relay for the further mobile device in dependence on the determination. The mobile device is configured to receive the notification from the system. The processor is further configured to start relaying data received from the further mobile device to the mobile communication network upon receiving the notification.

Abstract: A TFT device is manufactured starting from a substrate with mutually insulated elongated strips of semi-conductor material. A stack of layers over the strips on the substrate, the stack comprising a gate electrode layer. A multi-level resist layer is provided over the gate electrode layer. The multi-level resist layer defines gate and source drain regions, the channel running in parallel with the direction of the strips. Gate portions in the resist layer cross source drain regions in the resist layer, overreaching the source drain regions on either side at least by a distance corresponding to a pitch of the strips.

Abstract: One aspect of the disclosure relates to a method in a user equipment for instructing establishment of a connection between a first local device and a second local device, the user equipment being connected to a public network, wherein an intermediary system is configured to connect to a first local network, to a second local network and to the public network. A virtual view is generated and, upon receiving a selection of a representation in the view, connectivity information is obtained regarding the communication path between the first local device and the second local device. An ability for user to instruct establishment of communication path in dependence of the connectivity information.

Abstract: A fiber optic sensor device comprising an optical fiber with a multilayer coating on the optical fiber at least in a fiber section of the optical fiber. The multilayer coating comprises a chrome layer on the optical fiber, a metal layer such as a copper layer on the chrome layer and an indium or lead layer on the metal layer. The indium or lead layer having a thickness larger than thicknesses of the chrome and metal layers, preferably with a thickness about equal to the radius of the optical fiber.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed enabling establishment of a direct connection between a first device connected to a first network and a second device connected to a second network upon finding a permission response from a third device connected to a third network. Establishment of the direct connection is controlled by a second network node associated with the second network. A connection request is received from the first device at at least one of the second network node or a third network node associated with the third network and a permission indication is found indicating that a connection with the second device is subject to permission from the third device. A permission response may be found from the third device to permit the connection request for enabling establishment of the direct connection. Establishing of the direct connection is enabled between the first device and the second device in response to finding the permission response.

Abstract: A system comprises a first network to which at least one user device and a gateway device are connected, which gateway device is also connected to a second network and is configured to cooperate with a virtual gateway application accommodated in the second network. A method of managing the system comprises the step of accommodating an auxiliary virtual gateway application in the at least one user device, which auxiliary virtual gateway application is configured for providing at least some functionalities of the virtual gateway application when communication between the gateway device and the virtual gateway application is lost. Although the virtual gateway application and the auxiliary gateway application may have distinct sets of functionalities, it is preferred that these applications each have DHCP functionality. This allows the auxiliary virtual gateway application to take over DHCP functions when communication with the second network is lost.

Abstract: The present invention relates to compounds having a backbone structure for use as antibiotic, more specifically use against infections with Gram positive bacteria, preferably Clostridium, more preferably C. difficile or C. perfringens. The compounds of the invention are particularly useful against spores of these bacteria.

Abstract: A method is described of probing a network route using a pairs of probe packets in which the first packets are typically smaller than the second. A first pair of probe packets with size ratio [L1/L2] and a second pair of probe packets with different size ratio [M1/M2] are transmitted onto a network route. An indicator of time taken for the second probe packet in the packet pairs to traverse the network route is derived and it is identified whether the values of the derived indicators vary or are substantially the same. The method, which can be used to probe home or domestic networks, indicates whether the first link in the route is or is not a bottleneck link, thereby providing further information about the route. A test apparatus, gateway device and computer to perform the method are also disclosed.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a security method and system in a telecommunications network comprising a radio access network system and a core network system. The radio access network system is configured to provide a wireless radio interface for at least one user device, wherein a shared secret key is stored in both the user device and the core network system. At least one vector is received from the core network system comprising one or more values derived from the shared secret key. At least one of an authentication procedure and a key agreement procedure is performed in the radio access network system for the user device over the wireless radio interface using the one or more values of the received vector for establishing a connection between the user device and the radio access network system.

Abstract: A method is presented for providing a carrier (CR) with an embedded patterned metal structure (EMM). The carrier at least includes a polymer foil (FS). The method comprise the steps of providing a carrier (CR) having a first side (S1) with an initial embedded patterned metal structure (EM). The carrier is then irradiated at a second side (S2) opposite the first side with a radiation beam (BM) that is at least partially transmitted through the carrier (CR) and at least partially absorbed by the initial embedded patterned metal structure (EM), therewith locally heating the initial embedded patterned metal structure and causing a removal of metal (DB) from the initial embedded patterned metal structure.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for discovery of one or more devices of a group of devices to establish a direct connection between at least two devices of the group of devices over a wide area network. The wide area network contains or is connected to a discovery server system. The discovery server system is configured for identifying a group associated with the group of devices, wherein each of the devices has a corresponding device identifier associated with the group. A discovery message from a first device of the group of devices is received, the discovery message comprising a device identifier associated with the first device. Abstract: The disclosure relates a method for controlling, by a first user device, user data exchange of a second user device over a telecommunications network. The first user device obtains a set of credentials and at least a portion of the set of credentials is provided to the second user device to enable the second user device to exchange user date over the telecommunications network. The data exchange of the second user device over the telecommunications network is controlled by the first user device. The first user device may perform a control action with respect to the credentials obtained by the first user device and provided to the second device.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for discovery by a non-discoverable first public safety user equipment (PS UE), of a discoverable second PS UE in a public safety system comprising a telecommunications network providing a public safety spectrum for wireless access of the first PS UE and the second PS UE. The method can comprise for the first non-discoverable PS UE: transmitting synchronization information for the second PS UE; receiving at least one proximity announcement from the second PS UE in accordance with the transmitted synchronization information. The disclosure also relates to a non-discoverable public safety user device configured for performing the method, and relates to a PS server system arranged for assisting in the discovery of PS UEs.

Abstract: A system is described to control a mobile telecommunication device within a telecommunications network, when the mobile device is suspected of being, or has been found to be, infected by malicious software or viruses causing it to behave maliciously or aggressively within the network. The telecommunications network is arranged to identify the telecommunication device and limit the communication between the mobile telecommunication device and the telecommunications network. This may mean limiting the bandwidth of the bearer between the mobile telecommunications device and the telecommunications network or may mean limiting the communications between the mobile telecommunications device and a specific location. In further embodiments the telecommunications network quarantines the identified device by either transferring an attachment of the mobile telecommunications device to a second network, or, maintaining a list of devices and adding the identified mobile telecommunications device to the list.

Abstract: A method for digital driving of an active matrix display with a predetermined frame rate is described. The display contains a plurality of pixels organized in a plurality of rows and a plurality of columns. The method includes representing each of the plurality of pixels of an image to be displayed within a frame by an n-bit digital image code. The method also includes dividing the image frame into sub-frames, which may be of substantially equal duration. Within each sub-frame, the method includes sequentially selecting at least one of the plurality of rows twice. Upon a first selection, a first digital code is written to the selected row and upon a second selection a second digital code is written to the selected row. There is a predetermined time delay between the second selection and the first selection. Digital driving circuitry is also described.

Abstract: The invention relates to a network node for facilitating traversal of NATs. The node includes a NAT, a client such as e.g. a STUN client, configured for determining NAT-related information for the NAT by exchanging one or more messages with a server such as e.g. a STUN server, and a routing unit configured for routing the messages exchanged between the client and the server via the NAT. Implementing the client on such a network node allows messages sent by a NAT information provider, NIP, to reach the client, while implementing the routing unit ensures that the client is “behind” the NAT in the network sense. In this manner, the NIP may request NAT behaviour discovery and obtain NAT-related information from the client and is able to later provide appropriate NAT-related information to terminals in local networks, thereby enabling the terminals to traverse the NATs that they are behind.

Abstract: The invention relates to a system and method for providing feedback to a user on his or her running style or running technique. The system employs a pressure sensitive surface to record a gait line of the center of pressure exerted by the user's foot on an underlying surface during a footstep period. In case of a fore or mid-foot landing the gait line may be observed to move backwards with respect to the sagittal plane. From a backwards-going gait line two time stamps are determined. The first timestamp T1 is the time that the foot strikes the ground. The second timestamp T2 is the time that the gait line reaches the most backward position. From the time difference between these two timestamps a loading time dT is determined. The reactivity of the running style describes the viscoelastic behavior of the muscle-tendon unit and may be calculated as a function of this loading time and/or the distance moved by the centre of pressure backwards towards the heel.
