  • Patent number: 4887477
Abstract: To permit constructing flexible belt-rack longitudinal-movement structures of substantial length, not subject to vibration, and inexpensively built, the rack (3) is cast integrally with a slab (2) of plastic concrete. A stiffening rib (33) can be provided in the slab, preferably at the side remote from the movable machine element (7), and preferably formed with a through-bore to attach a tension rod therethrough, so that a plurality of such slabs can be longitudinally connected together. Guide rails (5) are located at the sides of the slab, on which slide bearings (6) are located which, in turn, support a movable carriage, movable along the bed. The carriage carries the drive motor (17) which drives a gear belt (22) for engagement with the rack.

  • Patent number: 4878390
Abstract: To support a long spindle with a spindle nut thereon, a plurality of support elements are located in a housing (1), the support elements (26, 226) including spring-biassed sliders which, when positioned at predetermined stop recesses (48) in the inside of the housing (1) engage the stop recesses. Upon movement of the spindle against a support element (26, 226), the spring-biased sliders are pushed out of the recesses and the lifting movement of the sliders engages a projecting connecting dog (44, 53) in the groove of a take-up carrier rail, the groove being closed off at the end. As the spindle nut (5) moves, support elements (26) are pushed ahead of the leading face thereof, with respect to the movement of the spindle nut, and collected.

  • Patent number: 4612817
Abstract: To facilitate manufacture of accurately formed tracks (6) within a circulating nut (10) on a spindle (1), the nut is formed with insert strips (4) shaped to receive the balls (3), the insert strips defining said track and, for example, being formed as part semi-circular trough-like sheet steel elements bent into spiral form, with circulating return portions (7) for the balls formed in either the nut, or extending from, and joining adjacent terminal portions of the strips. To prevent loss of balls, an elastic, e.g. plastic tape (189) with laterally projecting wings (19) is positioned between the tracks (6) defined by adjacent strips, partly overlapping the balls (3) in the tracks, additionally providing reservoirs for lubricant and excluding contamination of the track within the nut by dirt, grit and the like.

  • Patent number: 4576420
Abstract: A linear bearing arrangement for guiding a carriage in a straight line along a guide rail is provided with at least one endless course of balls (3) disposed between the carriage (2) and the guide rail (1). The guide rail has at least one ball race (4) associated with the load-bearing balls of the ball course and extending in the longitudinal direction of the rail. At least one elongated track carrier element (8), having at least one ball race (16), as well as at least one diversion and return track for the unloaded balls are disposed in the interior of the carriage. In order to assure great accuracy in the guidance of the carriage on the guide rail as well as to assure simple assembly and convenient replacement of worn parts, the arrangement is selected such that the track carrier element (8) is combined into one subassembly with diversion (9) and return elements (10,10a,11,11a) containing the diversion and return track; a plate (12) holds the balls (3) facing the rail (11) captive.

  • Patent number: 4552416
Abstract: A bearing arrangement for guiding a carriage in a straight line along a guide rail has four endless courses of balls disposed between the guide rail and the carriage, and the guide rail is provided with four parallel ball races associated with the load-bearing balls of the ball courses. The balls are held in elongated ball bearing assemblies. The ball races are located in the respective transitional zones between two adjacent shanks, located one above the other, of the substantially double-T-shaped or cruciform guide rail.In order to increase the flexural strength of the guide rail and to provide a manner of securing it in a tilt-free manner, the arrangment is selected such that on at least one side the guide rail has two integral, longitudinal parallel ribs, which define a longitudinal groove in which securing devices for the guide rail and/or for elements insertable into the longitudinal groove are disposed, fitting seats between the ball bearing assemblies and the carriage insure accurate guidance.
