Patents Assigned to Nekoosa Packaging Corporation
  • Patent number: 5029708
Abstract: A square RSC carton for potted plants and flowers to be used for shipping the potted item in the carton to the retail store, and for display of the potted item at the retail store. The top flaps are perforated for removal of arcuate portions of the top flaps and form a circular rim defining an aperture through which the flower pot is placed for support of its flange on the top flaps at the circular rim. "Pop-in" segments are formed across the corners of the adjacent side panels by parallel lateral slits and parallel vertical hinges enabling reversing the structure to support the weight of the flower pot by the top flaps. The top flaps are also infolded at second fold lines to suspend the flower pot below the top end of the carton thereby hiding the pot inside the display and showing only the flowers or plant.

  • Patent number: 5012930
Abstract: A die cut blank of corrugated paperboard for forming a one-piece self-locking container for a product such as computer software items. Five panels forming the top, bottom and sides of the container are in line and flaps depend from either side of one of the side forming panel and each of the top and bottom forming panels. The flaps on the side forming panel include hinged locking flaps and the flaps on the top and bottom forming panels fold inwardly; the side flaps folding around them and being locked in place by the fifth panel engaging the locking flaps. The fold line for the flaps along one side of the blank are formed by serrated score lines rupturable for removal of the one end of the container providing a self supporting file holder for the software packet. A serrated thumb hole score is provided adjacent the fold line at the top (or bottom) of the container as access to enable tearing open and removal of the one end of the container.

  • Patent number: 4953782
Abstract: A corrugated fiberboard shipping container for fresh produce the container having a tubular body, a bottom closure which is formed by four bottom flaps, and a re-openable and re-closable top closure at the top of the container. The top closure is formed by four top flaps, each top flap being folded inwardly with respect to the body panel to which it is attached to extend transversely therefrom. Each of an opposed pair of top flaps has a pair of spaced apart elongate slots therein which extend, respectively from the juncture of each such top flap with its body panel partly to the free edge thereof. Each of the other opposed pair of top flaps has a pair of spaced apart cuts therein extending from the free edge partly to the juncture of such top flap with its body panel. The cuts form a spaced apart pair of locking tabs in the free edge of each of the other opposed pair of top flaps with an intermediate tab therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4946093
Abstract: There is disclosed a half-slotted container body and lid, each made from a blank of corrugated paperboard. The lid blank has an additional score to provide a fold-line around the perimeter of the side and end panels at approximately one-half of the depth. This score line defines inner and outer panels of the lid's perimeter side and end walls. Where this fold-line intersects each of the panel score lines defining the ends of the side and end panels, there are two diagonal scores which radiate from that point in opposite directions extending to the free edge of the inner panels. When the lid is set up, the top flaps are folded inwardly and secured to form a top of the lid, and the inner panels are folded inwardly hinged at the four corners by the diagonal scores. The inner panels are pushed in at the interior four corners of the lid locking the inner panels along the outer panels to provide a two-ply perimeter wall of the lid.

  • Patent number: 4871406
Abstract: A corrugated paperboard, manufactured with a layer of plastic film approximately 1-3 mil thickness, is laminated to the single face liner of single face board in the double-backer. The board has good moisture vapor transmission (MVT) properties for packaging food and chemical products. The film is supplied in roll form and reeved over a dewrinkling roll device to smooth it, then fed onto the single face liner as the single face corrugated is fed into the nip of the double-backer. The lamination of the film is made by the residual heat from the paper and pressure of the double-backer belt in the drying section of the corrugator without adding adhesives or other compounds. The film is a thermoplastic co-extruded polymeric film, e.g. high density polyethylene (HDPE), polypropylene, PET, having a heat seal layer thereon of a copolymer of olefin with Alpha-Beta monoethylenically unsaturated monomer, e.g., ethylene acrylic acid (EAA).

  • Patent number: 4771939
Abstract: A center special slotted container is shown which is manufactured from sheet of corrugated paper material. The blank is formed such that top and bottom flaps provide parallel edges in knock-down manufactured condition when the manufacturer's glue joint is made up. Before the glue joint is firmly set, this knock-down carton is readily processed in a squaring device of a folder-gluer (a Flexo folder-gluer is an example) to prove a quality manufactured carton, and overcome out-of-square defects.

  • Patent number: 4756469
Abstract: A multi-compartment carton or container formed from a single blank of sheet material which is cut, scored, folded and glued in a fashion such that it is in a collapsed or "knock-down", ready-for-shipping condition upon being formed and is thereafter easily erected for use.
