Patent number: 8074528Abstract: An in-line valve sampling system connected to a pipe conduit extracts a sample of process media in a receiving container or receptacle for testing. The valve sampling system provides a resilient sealing mechanism for corrosive process media at elevated and fluctuating temperature ranges by providing a packing cartridge having a thin film of PTFE material biased by at least one O-ring to provide a seal between a valve spindle and a raised portion of the packing cartridge.Type: GrantFiled: July 8, 2008Date of Patent: December 13, 2011Assignee: Neotecha AGInventor: Peter Zollinger

Patent number: 4759530Abstract: A butterfly type valve has a closure disc with opposed trunnions or support stem portions for rotatably supporting the closure disc in a valve body which is bored to receive respective sets of circular disc type springs urging seal faces on a body liner into engagement with cooperating annular seal faces formed on an overmold resilient plastic layer on the closure disc. The closure disc outer layer is formed of PFA or PVDF type plastic and the body liner of PTFE type plastic, respectively to eliminate cold fusion when the closure disc is forcibly engaged with a seat surface formed by the liner. The closure disc layer includes a portion filling an undercut groove in the closure disc stems which is cooperable with a cylindrical collar formed on the liner and a backup seal to further seal the stem portions from exposure to the fluid flowing through the valve or the environment in which the valve is disposed.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 1987Date of Patent: July 26, 1988Assignee: Neotecha AGInventor: Rene Iff

Patent number: 4696323Abstract: Disclosed is a plastic lined rotatable valve. The valve includes a valve body that is formed by at least two connected together body parts or halves. Each body half is lined with an inert plastic material. The seal between the body halves or parts is provided by sealing flanges on the plastic lining. The sealing flanges are resiliently urged together, thereby to compensate for cold flow and to isolate the sealing flanges from stresses on the valve body due to uneven piping loads. The valve body halves or parts include rims about the junction where the halves or parts are joined together which form a rigid shell for the valve body, which further isolates the sealing flanges from mechanical stresses. The valve includes a plastic encapsulated valve member that is rotatable by a plastic encapsulated stem. A packing is provided for sealing between the stem and valve body.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 1985Date of Patent: September 29, 1987Assignee: Neotecha AGInventor: Rene Iff

Patent number: RE34923Abstract: A safety structure for detecting fluid leakage from a valve having an exposed end of a rotatable valve stem connected to a valve element within the valve for rotating the valve element between an open and a closed position. The safety structure comprises a jacket, and an elongated handle extension disposed within the jacket for rotation about its axis. The handle extension includes an end which extends outward from the jacket for turning the handle extension. The jacket terminates in an annular flange which is attached to the valve in an isolating configuration having the exposed end of the valve stem covered, and the handle extension connected to valve stem via a slot on the lower end of the handle extension and a pair of opposed flats on the covered end of the rotatable valve stem over which the slot extends for transferring the rotation of the handle extension to the valve stem.Type: GrantFiled: November 25, 1992Date of Patent: May 2, 1995Assignee: Neotecha AGInventor: J.
