Abstract: A method for providing asynchronous communication over a connected channel with out keep-alives is disclosed. This communication method includes establishing an asynchronous connection between the client and the server. This connection remains open, allowing the server to continue to respond to the original client request. The server continues to send asynchronous responses to the client as network events occur, over this open connection. The client continues to listen for responses over this same open connection.
Abstract: A method for communicating with multiple HTTP servers through a HTTP proxy server from HTML/XSL web pages is disclosed. The method includes a mechanism allowing client web browsers to encode information within a URI that specifies the proxy server and actual server. This allows the client web browser to transmit a request without a proxy header. The server will recognize and handle proxying if it is necessary.
Abstract: A system and method for managing network devices by providing status and configuration information for the networked devices via a handheld device. The system includes a means for identifying and categorizing managed network devices using a handheld device. Once discovered and identified the networked device is monitored for alerts based on a specific category. The networked device also provides basic configuration information that is viewed via the handheld device display.
