Patent number: 11582351Abstract: A method and system for managing financial risk through the use of postpaid processing during use of wireless services is presented within the scope of the following invention. The present invention uses credit card authorization to pre-reserve credit card funds for wireless services in excess of planned usage. Authorizations eliminate the credit risk associated with overages and payment timing, and also maintain a customer experience identical to postpaid processing. The authorizations are invisible to the customer and no charge is brought to a customer's credit card until the monthly bill is settled. Separating the authorization and settlement stages of retail wireless payment processing allows the branded wireless provider to avoid inherent areas of credit risk during the tenure of a customer's wireless service, while maintaining a familiar customer experience.Type: GrantFiled: November 25, 2015Date of Patent: February 14, 2023Assignee: Netcracker Technology Solutions Inc.Inventors: Thomas Bobich, Carl-Manuel Brachet, Robert Gray, John Hinman

Publication number: 20180075454Abstract: A fraud detection system and method uses unique indicators for detecting fraud that extend beyond traditional transaction-based indicators. These unique indicators may include environmental information about a customer or a transaction. Such indicators may be used to identify fraud events based on computer-executable instructions that evaluate fraud risk. Further, an improved fraud detection system may include a learning component with a feedback loop. Also, authenticating and other information may be directed to the system for updating indicating data, fraud models, and risk assessments.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 24, 2017Publication date: March 15, 2018Applicant: Netcracker Technology Solutions Inc.Inventors: Phillip Geoffrey Claridge, Alastair David Hanlon, Marian Hatfield

Patent number: 9135642Abstract: There is disclosed a device-based eCare solution that facilitates computerized consumer service on consumer devices. The system may include an end device, a back-end server eCare system, and a communications technology. One or more consumer eCare applications, such as balance and pricing applications, consumer assistance applications, diagnostic applications, and anticipatory applications, may be resident on the device. The end device may be configured to monitor the consumer's activity and collect and store a set of data regarding the consumer's activity. The end device may be further programmed to proactively offer the consumer a consumer eCare application based on the set of data and execute the consumer eCare application in accordance with the consumer's instructions. The system may create a collaborative environment between the device, other devices, and the back-end server eCare system.Type: GrantFiled: August 13, 2010Date of Patent: September 15, 2015Assignee: NetCracker Technology Solutions, Inc.Inventors: Scott A. Patent number: 8918506Abstract: There is disclosed a system and method for processing requests over an architecture. The architecture may utilize logical partitioning to distribute work load across multiple logical servers in an efficient manager. The system may comprise a router, a directory, at least one logical server, and a wallet server. The router may receive a request from a consumer via the consumer's device and extract a value from the request that identifies the consumer. The router may access the directory, which may contain a map that matches consumers with logical servers, to determine which logical server to forward the request to. The router may then pass the request to the determined logical server. The logical server may process the request by utilizing both generic and network or market specific plug-in processing.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 2006Date of Patent: December 23, 2014Assignee: Netcracker Technology Solutions Inc.Inventors: Ian James Clubb, Philip Geoffrey Claridge, Thomas Joseph Shusta, Jeffrey M Miller
