Abstract: A staple fiber cutting machine for continuously cutting cables of synthetic ibers, has a rotation-symmetrical rotary cutter supporting member provided with a plurality of cutters, a ring member mounted on end portions of the cutters and defining an inlet slot for a cable, and a drum member mounted on an outer side of the ring member and having an inner diameter substantially corresponding to an inner diameter of the ring member, and a length that could be anything but shorter than the small spacings between cutting edges of two neighboring cutters.

Abstract: A plurality of separate synthetic plastic fibers are advanced through respective discrete guide passages of a housing towards a crimping chamber. The housing is provided with bores for supplying a stream of hot gas into each of the passages to thereby plasticize the fibers. Thereafter, the fibers pass into the crimping chamber, where the gas entering this chamber is withdrawn, so as to crimp the fibers. The housing is provided with another passage, which connects the opposite end of the crimping chamber with the exterior of the housing. This passage receives the fibers in crimped condition and allows them to be wound onto takeup spools individually.

Abstract: A bobbin holder, particularly in thread winding machines, comprises an elated support operative for replaceably receiving a set of separate bobbins. The bobbins are subject to axial withdrawal from the support upon winding onto the bobbins of a predetermined amount of thread. The holder is further provided with an element for cutting the thread when a bobbin is filled. This element is mounted on the support for movement relative to the latter between a rest position and a working position in which it is operable to cut the thread.
