  • Patent number: 10932983
Abstract: A mobility aid includes two side frames, each configured for contact with a hand or forearm of associated user; an interconnecting frame member; two or more wheels; one or two adjustable torso bars attached to side frames, and each variably including a posterior member for maintaining consistent contact of torso with the anterior member. Flexed posturing and abnormal lower body biomechanics are common with use of wheeled walking aids managed by the upper body. Users typically excessively push down and forward to advance device. The novel body engaging member(s) enable the presented device to be advanced by torso contact as the user walks. Upper body weight bearing is thereby minimized. Propulsion is enhanced as user advances the pelvis against the torso bar(s). Posture is improved and safety is increased. A walker is provided for users requiring, or training to achieve, light upper body support.

  • Patent number: 10870033
Abstract: An upper body support assembly for use with an associated railed device having first and second rails is disclosed. The assembly includes first and second upper body supports capable of moving along the first and second rails, respectively. The upper body supports have at least one of: (i) first and second forearm supports, (ii) first and second hand grips, or (iii) a first forearm support and a first hand grip. An interconnecting member extends between and selectively connects both the first and second upper body supports to permit (i) interrelated movement therebetween when connected, and (ii) independent movement therebetween when disconnected. The assembly can achieve two point gait, three point gait, and four point gait movement.

  • Patent number: 10617906
Abstract: Patient aid devices and an associated method of supporting an upper extremity are described and include a mobile upper extremity support for the patient. A support assembly supports a first side of an upper body of the user for movement along a first rail. The support assembly also allows motion of a second side of an upper body relative to the first side.

  • Patent number: 10617907
Abstract: A patient aid assembly includes an upper extremity support assembly and a housing associated therewith. The housing slidingly engages a rail and allows relative movements therealong. First and second upper extremity support assemblies are received on first and second rails, respectively. An interconnecting member us hingedly connected to each of first and second housings that support the UE support assemblies.

  • Patent number: 10543144
Abstract: A wheeled ambulatory aid for mobility and training which is advanced via bodily contact. Reciprocating UE movement is enabled and reciprocating gait patterns can be performed. The patient mobility aid includes a frame, and at least first and second wheels operatively secured to and supporting the frame for selective rolling movement. First and second support assemblies are located on first and second sides of the frame, respectively. A reverse motion linkage operatively associated with the first and second support assemblies, the reverse motion linkage including a first state configured to provide independent between the first and second support assemblies, and a second state configured to provide interrelated movement between the first and second support assemblies to create symmetrical out of phase reciprocating UE movement. Support assemblies can variably be statically positioned.
