  • Patent number: 6412015
Abstract: Networked processors provide application and operating system in one machine, application proxy and operating system on other machine, and virtualized input or output coupling to operating system of the other machine. Client responds to applied input and executes application proxy to apply output, while server executes application, and proxy interface sends applied input to server so server executes application per applied input and generates applied output. Proxy interface sends generated output for virtual display by client.

  • Patent number: 6167473
Abstract: A networked computer system having buffered user interface includes processor, memory, input/output devices and software for detecting input activity and adjusting flushing rate of the output device in response to detected activity level of the input device. A buffer stores captured data and is flushed when full, when elapsed time since last flush exceeds specified period, or when trigger event is detected, such as keyboard or mouse movement is detected. Flush period is variable according to frequency of trigger event (i.e., while not detect trigger event, extend flush period).
