Patent number: 4353011Abstract: A parallel circuit of a capacitor and a switching element is connected to a hot cathode discharge lamp lighting device using a high frequency and high voltage generating means for permitting the flow of current into the filaments of the hot cathode type discharge lamp only at the lamp starting time. The switching element of the parallel circuit is a current controlled resistance element, such as a switching semiconductor, having a break-over voltage V.sub.BO lower than the capacitor terminal voltage during the initial ignition period and higher than the capacitor terminal voltage during the reignition or operation period, whereby the filament current to the discharge lamp may be used for preheating of the filament in the initial ignition period. The filament current may be stopped or reduced by turning off of the switching element by raising the terminal voltage of the capacitor in the reignition period during normal operation.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 1980Date of Patent: October 5, 1982Assignee: New Nippon Electric Company, Ltd.Inventor: Isao Kaneda

Patent number: 4238708Abstract: A discharge lamp is ignited in every half cycle in its operating system including a discharge lamp operating circuit provided with a low frequency alternating current power source, a single winding type current limiter. The discharge lamp is connected to the power source through the current limiter and a series circuit including a high voltage output generator is connected in parallel to the discharge lamp. The high voltage output generator operates during the lamp operation for reigniting the discharge lamp. The voltage of the low frequency alternating current power source is set to less than the required reignition voltage of the discharge lamp during its operation, whereby the lamp current stabilizer size is minimized. Further, a filament preheating circuit is arranged to use current derived from the high voltage generator. The filament preheating circuit is combined with this operating circuit and so is a time delay for assuring a stable operation.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 1978Date of Patent: December 9, 1980Assignee: New Nippon Electric Company, Ltd.Inventor: Isao Kaneda

Patent number: 4172390Abstract: In a pivotally mounted member of the memory fine tuning arrangement for a turret type television tuner, a pivotally moved lever plate provided integrally with a pivotal shaft having head portion, neck portion and body portion, is pivotally mounted on a front wall chassis base by setting the neck portion of the pivotal shaft into a notch of the front wall, wherein assembly of the lever plate to the front wall chassis base can be achieved by the two steps of inserting the head and neck portions of the pivotal shaft into a large opening portion of the notch in the front wall and slidingly setting the neck portion in a small opening portion from the large opening portion through continuous opening portion of the notch. To ensure easy and accurate assembly, a vertical support for the pivotal shaft on the front wall is affixed to the pivotally mounted member so that the parallel relation between the front wall and the lever plate is maintained.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 1976Date of Patent: October 30, 1979Assignee: New Nippon Electric Company, Ltd.Inventors: Takeyoshi Tanida, Michiaki Narihiro

Patent number: 4120759Abstract: In the present plating method the bath contains an electrolyte solution having a uniform ion concentration. A common electrode, a plating electrode and a standard electrode are arranged in the bath. A direct current source is connected between the common electrode and the plating electrode. A further, constant, direct current source is connected between the common electrode and the standard electrode. A potentiometer device is arranged for detecting resistance changes between these electrodes due to variations in the ion concentration and in the mobility of the electrolyte solution between the electrodes. A control is responsive to the potentiometer device for regulating the plating current supplied by the direct current source as a function of the potential difference detected by the potentiometer device, whereby a constant plating current density is achieved.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 1977Date of Patent: October 17, 1978Assignee: New Nippon Electric Company, Ltd.Inventors: Hiroshi Asami, Masao Kaji
