Abstract: A method and apparatus for making reusable paint. rollers comprised of a core formed from thermoplastic material. The thermoplastic material is formed into a core about a stationary mandril. An adhesive is then applied to the core whereupon a cover is bonded thereto. In a first embodiment the core is formed by winding a plurality of thermoplastic strips about the mandril. In a second embodiment the core is formed by applying liquefied thermoplastic material to a driven belt which transfers the thermoplastic material to the mandril.

Abstract: A paint roller is comprised of a thermoplastic tubular core and a cover fabric heat-fused thereto without an intermediate adhesive. The fabric is wound around the core in a helical path, and the core is heat-softened in the zone of winding to fuse the fabric to the core as it is wound thereon.

Abstract: The invention is embodied in a mini-blind which has a headrail and an array of slats suspended therefrom. The slats are raised, lowered and adjusted with a plurality of cords. The slats are generally free from apertures which extend through the slats. The cords used to lift the array of slats run along the outer edges of the slats. At least one of the ladder cords, which are used to adjust the angular orientation of the slats, engages notches formed in the edges of the slats. The invention also has a unique method of controlling the lifting cords as they extend through and out of the headrail. A basket/barrel assembly having a bent wire cord guide cooperates with cord locking and tilting mechanisms which are housed together at one end of the headrail.

Abstract: A shipping package for beverageware which functions to also display the beverageware as it is offered for sale on retain shelves. The package is stackable with like packages during transit and handling at all points from the manufacturing source to the consumer's home, and can be thermoformed as one sheet with integral hinges and friction-type interlocks.

Abstract: A curtain support system having a wall mounted bracket which has an outwardly extending bracket arm, and a mating curtain rod arm connected to or integral with a curtain rod. The rod arm and bracket arm are capable of being adjusted so that the curtain rod can assume positions which vary in distance from the supporting wall or window to which the bracket arm is attached. The bracket arm has a rack comprised of a series of slots formed on the upper edge thereof, and the rod arm has a bar which fits into each of the slots in the bracket arm. The bar, which is located along the top edge of the rod arm, cooperates with a stop on the lower edge of the rod arm to allow upward rotation of the rod arm, while limiting downward rotation. The bracket arm and rod arm have complementary interfitting C-shaped cross-sections which provide lateral stability to the system.

Abstract: A device for decorating a window shade includes a flat strip of polyester material having pre-applied adhesive and removable covers on both sides thereof. Printed instructions for decorating the shade are provided on the covers. A decorative wallpaper or fabric is applied to one side of the polyester strip, and the strip is then applied to the lower portion of the window shade. The polyester strip has a thickness which allows it to be cut with a scissors. The adhesive used on the polyester strip is compatible with both the material of the shade and various decorative materials.

Abstract: The scale of the present invention has a housing with a recess in its upper surface to allow rotative movement of a pointer therein. Numerals corresponding to weight are disposed an an annular disc-shaped dial carried by the upper periphery of the housing. A transparent cover plate overlies the recess in which the pointer rotates. The recess, pointer and dial are arranged and dimensioned so that the pointer and numerals can be easily read by a user from a standing position. The dial and cover are flush with the outer edge of the housing so that the entire upper surface of the scale is easy to clean and comfortable.

Abstract: A display bracket especially adapted for supporting retail merchandising crossbars is disclosed which is capable of mounting crossbars to display uprights which have varying (a) sizes of apertures and (b) spacings of apertures in the uprights, said display bracket including a bracket having two rearwardly projecting protrusion members, one of which has a hook-like element and one of which does not. A wedge option for eliminating looseness and a friction lock for providing further stability is also disclosed.

Abstract: A shelving system comprising a shelf, a vertical support structure, and a shelf bracket. The shelf bracket consists of a base member and a fastener to secure the base member to a vertical support structure, a lower support ledge extending outwardly from the base member, and an upper gripper arm also extending outwardly from the base member. The upper gripper arm and lower support ledge are arranged to form an opening therebetween for the reception of a shelf. A knife edge is formed an integral part of the upper gripper arm and is arranged to penetrate and mechanically interlock with the shelf, which interlocking increases with increased cantilever loading of the shelf.

Abstract: A window shade motor and a window shade roller assembly which is characterized by easier release and release with greater certainty, as contrasted to current construction, while having fewer parts which is based, in part, on arranging the pivot axes of the pawls closer to the center and a reduction of parts to as few as seven including a cage structure which performs several functions and which may easily be formed by progressive stamping.
