Abstract: A trim clip includes a tether, a main clip body, and a pin. In the assembled condition, a body securing part and a trim securing part of the main clip body are directly connected. The trim securing part has a leg formed as a hollow tubular member. Flexible first latching pawls are formed in the leg and protrude radially outward from the leg. When the pin is inserted into the leg of the body securing part, then second latching pawls on the inside of the leg engage a latching shoulder on the pin, and pulling up on the pin is limited and inward movement of the first latching pawls is prevented, thus securing of the body securing part to a body panel is strengthened.
Abstract: There is disclosed herein a method of connecting together at least two workpieces (30, 32) using a blind rivet (10), which comprises the steps of biasing a blind side end face of a blind rivet (10) against a workpiece (30) and subsequently effecting rotation (41) of the blind rivet (10) whilst in abutment with the workpiece (30) to create a heat weakened region of the workpiece through which the blind rivet (10) can subsequently be inserted by a biasing force less than a biasing force normally required to effect piercing of the workpiece (30, 32) by such a blind rivet (10).
Abstract: A doorbell assembly with hidden fasteners includes a doorbell cover, a bracket for supporting the doorbell cover and a button assembly. The bracket includes a first set of resilient fingers for engaging the button assembly and a second set of resilient fingers for engaging the doorbell cover.
Abstract: A fastening element 30 is fed from a feed track 64 through a feed chamber, formed by interfacing closed channels 132 and 160, to a junction point located in a feed passage 84, formed by two communicating feed openings 86 and 88. An inclined surface 82, located between the feed chamber and the junction point, is inclined downward from the feed chamber to the junction point. A ram 105, located movably in the feed chamber, transfers the fastening element 30 from the feed track 64 to the inclined surface 82, where the fastening element moves down the inclined surface to the junction point. Upon the application of a pressure medium into the feed passage 84, selectively in either of two directions, the fastening element 30 can be directed toward a fastening device 104.
